Summer in Mường Lống boasts a refreshing climate. Gentle breezes cascade down from the mountains, carrying moisture from the clouds, keeping the temperature here no higher than 23 degrees. The Chao Sa stream meanders, forming a long stretch of water, culminating in majestic yet picturesque waterfalls.

Leaving the sweet-laden plum orchards, ascending to Hang Dơi, just about 100m from the village center; the cave extends nearly 2 kilometers deep, with a width ranging from 5 to 7 meters and a height exceeding 10 meters. The cave's atmosphere is cool, with countless stalactites formed over thousands of years, creating unique formations. Here, visitors also have the opportunity to explore the cultural aspects of the Hmong people. One can partake in fruit picking with the locals, especially relishing a family meal featuring the renowned black chicken. Black chicken has become a specialty, a hallmark of Kỳ Sơn. If the Thai people excel in traditional weaving, the Hmong people are renowned for their embroidery and blacksmithing skills.

Following the footsteps of the locals, tourists gain deeper insights into the lives of indigenous people, characterized by tranquility and simplicity. Children, dressed in vibrant attire, barefoot with clothes perpetually muddy from playful adventures, their innocent smiles always accompanying strangers; Hmong women carrying their children to the market or sitting, embroidering, and sewing by the small thatched houses, while pigs roam freely, competing for feed in wooden troughs outside the garden.

A visit to Mường Lống is incomplete without experiencing its highland markets. There are two monthly markets at the beginning and middle of each month. The locals attend these markets not just for livelihood but primarily for socializing and networking. If Kỳ Sơn is a colorful painting, then Mường Lống is its most sensual stroke. To foster tourism, Kỳ Sơn district is calling for investment focusing on three areas: Mường Lống tourist spot, Mỹ Lý village tourism (located within the scenic reservoir area, abundant with fish at the headwaters of Nậm Nơn river), and another spot is the pristine pine hill area existing for generations in the two communes of Mường Ải and Mường Típ. Farewell to Mường Lống under the sun and flowers, standing at the gateway to heaven, many will surely be even more astonished by its beauty.
