miHoYo meticulously calculates the amount of Starry Gems in each update. Unlike patch 1.3, which generously provided over 4,500 Starry Gems through the Insect Concerto mode, patch 1.4 introduces no new modes, resulting in a significantly lower virtual currency yield.
A rough estimate suggests that in each Honkai: Star Rail update, players will receive approximately 11,000 Starry Gems (including event login rewards) for free-to-play accounts and nearly 16,000 Starry Gems for those with both the monthly pass and Battle Pass. However, this entails completing all content in the update, including missions, events, and Forgotten Hall stages (reset every two weeks). These figures equate to 69 and 100 special rolls, respectively, not including regular banner rolls.
However, version 1.4 brings another unique twist: according to miHoYo's announcement, this version will only last for 5 weeks instead of the usual 6. It will conclude on November 15, 2023. Therefore, we need to subtract the number of Starry Gems earned per week – reducing by 420 for completely free-to-play players and 1120 for those who purchase the monthly pass.
Thus, in the upcoming version 1.4, Honkai: Star Rail players may receive approximately between 10,580 to 13,880 Starry Gems, depending on their grinding capabilities and whether they purchase the monthly pass.
