1. Inserting online videos
PowerPoint allows you to seamlessly embed videos from YouTube and the internet into your documents, ensuring you can present videos anywhere, on any computer with an internet connection.
* Note: Microsoft PowerPoint requires you to use Internet Explorer 9 or later as your default browser to play embedded videos from the web.
The steps to insert online videos into PowerPoint are as follows:
Step 1: Select the slide where you want to insert the video. Navigate to the Insert tab, click on Video > Online Video…

Step 2: You have two options: Enter keywords to search for videos on YouTube or paste the embed code of the video.

2. Inserting video from your computer
There are two methods to insert video from your computer into PowerPoint: one is to embed directly, and the other is to create a link to the video.
- Embedding directly means inserting the video directly into the slide. In other words, the video becomes part of the PowerPoint file. After saving the file, the video will also be saved inside. With this method, you can present on any computer with just the PowerPoint file, but the file size will significantly increase.
- If you create a link to the video, you will play the video from its exact location, such as a folder on your hard drive. The video remains completely independent of the PowerPoint file. This method helps keep the file size from increasing, but if you save and present on a different computer, the link you created will break (unless you also save the video to the same location, in the same folder, on that computer).
For convenient presentation on different computers, it's recommended to embed the video directly into PowerPoint.
Step 1: Select the slide where you want to insert the video. Navigate to the Insert tab, click on Video > Video on My PC…

Step 2: Choose the video on your computer and then click Insert.

The outcome after insertion:

And after transferring the PowerPoint file to another computer, the embedded video can still be played normally.

Through this article, I've guided you on how to embed videos into PowerPoint that remain playable when transferred to another computer. It's that simple, wishing you successful execution!
