Where is Hồ Tà Đùng located?
Hồ Tà Đùng lies amidst the area of Lâm Đồng and Đắk P’lao commune, Đắk Som commune, Đắk Glong district, Đắk Nông province, where the QL28 route runs through. Hồ Tà Đùng is approximately 270km away from Ho Chi Minh City, a 2-day 1-night trip is enough time to explore this place.

Surrounded by vast mountainous terrain, the high peaks give rise to a reservoir spanning over 3600 hectares. Within Tà Đùng reservoir are over 40 unique islands, making it a prime tourist destination in Đăk Nông province. Construction of the reservoir took place from 2012 to 2015, leading to a significant boost in tourism.
Lake Tà Đùng boasts stunning turquoise waters, with continuous ripples creating mesmerizing light and shadow effects. From afar, Tà Đùng resembles a picturesque painting, often likened to Halong Bay of the Central Highlands due to its beauty of floating islands and emerald waters.
The pathway leading to the homestay accommodation where I stayed
At Tà Đùng Lake, I experienced more than just trekking and admiring the scenery. I witnessed breathtaking sunsets and the shimmering sunlight reflecting on the lake's surface. Enjoying breakfast while watching the drifting clouds over the river was a serene moment. Camping under the stars amidst the majestic mountains, waking up to the sunrise peeking through the tent - an unforgettable experience. Exploring the vegetable gardens, flower orchards, and bamboo forests was delightful. Additionally, boating on the lake, camping on the islands, or kayaking in the early morning or evening mist were alluring activities.

A glimpse of sunset from the homestay I stayed at
From what I've gathered, Tà Đùng offers various trekking services to reach the summit and fully appreciate its beauty. Visitors can also join cultural tours to experience the unique blend of Tay Nguyen gongs and local cuisine.
Where to stay and dine at Tà Đùng Lake?
Tà Đùng Bee Farm (where I stayed, though currently on hiatus due to a loss of passion. However, you can still camp here by bringing your own tent or contact us at 0931280587 on phone or zalo).
For better services, consider glamping options nearby such as Trust Life Tà Đùng, Free Dorm Green Villa, Tà Đùng May Farm, Tà Đùng Dream, Uncle Đông's House. These spots offer beautiful views and are popular choices among travelers.
Additionally, you can explore hotels in Đắk Nông here.
In the morning at the homestay, you can often see clouds! Depending on the time, the sea of clouds will vary.
Regarding dining, in the Tà Đùng Lake area, almost every homestay and accommodation facility caters to dining needs. However, the most characteristic dishes are grilled chicken and bamboo rice. Alternatively, you can visit the most beloved restaurant in Tà Đùng, K’Jang. Along the road leading to the lake, there are numerous eateries where you can purchase food to bring along or even visit the local market to cook your own meal as it's located right on the way to the lake.

When is the best time to visit Tà Đùng Lake?
The best time to visit the Central Highlands in general and Tà Đùng Lake in particular is from November to April every year, as it's the dry season, making travel convenient, scenery beautiful, and safe for exploration.
From May to October, exploration is still possible, but rain may affect activities and increase the likelihood of unfavorable situations during travel and recreation. Therefore, I do not recommend traveling here during periods of bad weather.
What should you prepare and be mindful of when visiting Tà Đùng Lake?
Tà Đùng is located in the Central Highlands, so the climate is relatively cool during the day and cold in the evenings and early mornings. During the day, wear lightweight clothing for convenience in activities, and at night, as the temperature drops quickly and the wind picks up, dress warmly to maintain good health.
Prepare food from outside or pre-order food and accommodation services in advance because weekends are the busiest time for tourism at Tà Đùng Lake.
When traveling on the boat to the camping island, you need to inform in advance the arrival time and the time to return from the island as sometimes there is no phone signal outside the floating islands.
Respect the local culture, customs, and cuisine when participating in indigenous cultural experience tours. Avoid actions or words that may 'hurt' others!
Explore the vast Central Highlands with its most fascinating aspects, admire the nature of the mountainous region, and listen to the rustling forest music - Đắk Nông, a new land with new experiences welcomes you to discover. Tà Đùng Lake is a stop for enthusiasts of exploration.
