Unravel the Charms of Virachey National Park
Virachey National Park boasts stunning natural landscapes located in the Northeast of Cambodia, spanning across two provinces, Stung Treng and Ratanakiri. With a total area of 3,325 square kilometers, the national park is home to a rich ecosystem of fauna and flora. It is also considered a priority heritage site for conservation in the Southeast Asian region.

Nestled within the deepest and most secluded forests of Cambodia, the park holds numerous mysteries waiting to be uncovered. The predominant landscapes include evergreen forests, high grasslands, bamboo forests, and river valleys, all exhibiting a pristine and majestic beauty. Presently, Virachey is inhabited by many rare and precious animal species, such as the great hornbill, douc langur, and pig-tailed macaque. However, evidence of the existence of Java rhinoceros, tigers, and leopards is still lacking.

Upon visiting the national park, you'll immerse yourself in a refreshing and pure atmosphere, where you'll experience the grandeur of nature with dense vegetation and melodious bird songs complementing the rustling sound of leaves falling to the ground. All these elements harmonize to create a delightful melody. Within the national park, several ancient trees are strictly protected to prevent deforestation.

Additionally, this place serves as a habitat for numerous rare and endangered animal species, particularly gibbons, which are under careful protection to prevent hunting.

Visitors not only come here to admire the breathtaking natural scenery but also engage in various exciting activities such as trekking from Phnom Veal Thom to Montane grassland, camping and exploring the sacred Kalang Chhouy mountain, and spending a night in the forest.
Phnom Veal Thom Trek

This is one of the exhilarating experiences when visiting Virachey National Park. During this journey, which lasts for 7 days starting from Phnom Veal Thom and ending at Montane grassland, you will partake in homestays in the village, camping, and long walks through the wilderness accompanied by national park rangers or local guides.
Overnight in the Forest
This is perhaps the most exceptional experience as not everyone can undertake it. With no accommodations available in the national park, overnight trips involve camping in tents beside campfires. However, all activities must be guided by national park rangers and local guides. Before embarking on the journey, tourists need to prepare food, water, camping equipment, etc. The sensation of lying amidst the mysterious natural scenery with echoing sounds in the mountains and forests will leave indelible memories.

Camping and Exploring the Sacred Kalang Chhouy Mountain
Embarking on the journey to conquer the sacred Kalang Chhouy mountain lasts approximately 3 days. During this time, there are activities such as camping near waterfalls and Chour Preah rapids. Additionally, there is a relatively long trek through Virachey. This itinerary is relatively gentle and does not require too many days.
