History of the formation of Golden Spring Lake – Dankia in Da Lat
Golden Spring Lake – Dankia consists of two lakes, Dankia above and Ankroet below, constructed in 1942. Covering an area of approximately 245ha with a capacity of 21 million m3, it serves the Ankroet hydropower plant. Today, Golden Spring Lake – Dankia has become the largest freshwater lake in the city, also being the main water supply for the entire city of Da Lat.
The abundant water source of Dankia Lake – Golden Spring is sourced from the Đạ Đờng River (also known as Đa Dâng, Da Deung, and downstream as Đồng Nai River), originating near the peak of Chư Yan Kao Mountain (2006m high) in Đạ Long commune, Lạc Dương district, Lâm Đồng province. After merging with Da Lien Deur stream upstream, it flows into Dankia Lake (Đăng Kia, Dangkia, Dankir, Đankia) with an area of 2.2km2 and Ankroet Lake) with an area of 0.28km2, then continues southward.

Golden Spring Lake – Dankia is one of the tourist attractions in Da Lat that captivates many visitors with its romantic and picturesque charm.
