Phu Quoc boasts beautiful sunny weather, captivating photo spots, and ideal resorts, making it the perfect destination for a romantic getaway with your loved one
Discover the detailed itinerary for an enjoyable and budget-friendly 5-day trip to Phu Quoc
TRANSPORTATION:
– I flew from Hanoi, snagging cheap airfare for just 810k VND per person round trip
– For getting around Phu Quoc, I opted to rent a motorbike for savings and flexibility. Whether you prefer taxis or self-drive rentals, there are plenty of options available. I noticed many rental services right at the airport. We rented a Lead motorbike with ample storage space for 150k VND per day, totaling 600k VND over 4 days.

ACCOMMODATION
– Stayed at Coral Bay Resort for 3 nights, priced at 900k per night for a seaside room accommodating 2 people. Missed out on the 950k corner sea-view rooms due to late booking. Enjoyed complimentary breakfast buffet; however, no airport shuttle service provided.
Advantages: Centrally located resort, approximately more than 3km from the night market, peaceful ambiance, commendable service, amiable reception, though the breakfast buffet had limited options, every dish was delectable. Relatively cheaper compared to other resorts.
Disadvantages: Found the pool area surrounded by trees less appealing, slightly steep alleyways, encountered flooded paths due to heavy rain on the first day.
– For the final night, booked the Riverside Mini Hotel Grand World in Phu Quoc to explore VinWonder, Sarafi, and enjoy the water music show at Grand World without worrying about returning to the city center late. The hotel was reasonably priced at 700k per night, inclusive of breakfast, with no airport shuttle service provided.
Advantages: Beautiful hotel with a pink-themed first floor. City view rooms available. The staff is friendly and charming. Conveniently located by the river, making it easy to access various attractions.

ITINERARY DETAILS
Day 1: Our flight to Phu Quoc was a bit delayed. We arrived at 6 PM, picked up our motorbike at the airport, and headed to Coral Bay (approximately over 6km away). Upon reaching the resort, heavy rain started, so we decided to stay in for the evening.
Day 2: Dia Trung Hai Town + Cable Car to Hon Thom + Sunset Sanato
– Dia Trung Hai Town: Located adjacent to An Thoi Station. From our hotel (about 26km away, with wide and easy roads), we drove to Dia Trung Hai Town before reaching An Thoi Station. This place is quite spacious, but we noticed people usually just check in at a few spots. After taking photos, they inquire about directions to the next destination. It's ideal to visit here after returning from Hon Thom in the cool afternoon breeze.
– Cable Car to Hon Thom: The cable car station is at An Thoi Station. The cable car here operates on its schedule, so make sure to check carefully to avoid missing the departure. Upon arrival, park your bike, take some stunning photos at the entrance, then purchase tickets to enjoy panoramic views of the South Island and the surrounding islets below. At Hon Thom, don't forget to bring your bikini to enjoy the water park. Afterward, inquire about shared transportation to the beach.
* Free bike parking. Ticket price: I booked in advance, excluding lunch, it's 500k per person.
Catch the breathtaking sunset at Sunset Sanato (located along the way back to our hotel). Ticket price is 100k per person.

Day 3: Dinh Cau + Leisure time at the resort + Snail Beach Bar + Night Market
Dinh Cau is near the night market, about a little over 3km from our resort. Free bike parking available. Then we stayed back at the resort for beachside photos, chilling in the room, and swimming pool activities.
In the evening, enjoy a relaxed sunset at Snail Beach Bar (right next to our resort). Entrance fee is 50k per person. It's advisable to make reservations in advance for the best view. At night, we strolled around Phu Quoc Night Market.
Day 4: On the Rock Restaurant (part of Mango Bay) + VinWonder + Vinpearl Safari + Grand World.
We checked out of the hotel early and headed to the North Island area. On the way, we stopped by On the Rock. We knew it's a fantastic spot for sunset views, but we didn't have time in the evening. So, we opted to experience it in the morning. Remember to adjust the chairs and tables for a better view. We had them in a straight line initially, which made the photography angle a bit challenging.
After returning to our hotel to drop off our luggage, we headed to Sarafi for lunch at Giraffe restaurant before visiting Vinwonder.
I purchased a combo ticket for Vinwonder + Sarafi in advance. The price is 940k per person, including lunch. Then we had lunch at Giraffe restaurant (using a 200k voucher included in the ticket). Here, there were adorable giraffes waiting for everyone, so don't forget to buy some food for them. Price is 30k per portion.
Afterward, we returned to the hotel for dinner. Everything at Grand World is expensive. At Grand World, you can't miss the water music show. It's absolutely amazing. The water music show starts at 9:30 PM, but it's recommended to arrive early, around 8:30 PM.

Day 5: Rach Vem – Grand World
Because we were afraid of returning late from Rach Vem, we checked out of the hotel in the morning and left our belongings there. It's about 20km from the hotel to Rach Vem. People recommend visiting in the morning to see the starfish. So, we went in the morning. After about 5km, the road becomes rough and challenging. When you arrive, you should walk a bit further, cross the bridge to reach the area with starfish.
Afterward, we returned to Grand World to relax. In the cool afternoon, we rented electric bikes for a ride around (bike rental is 70k per hour, except for riverside areas where it's 60k per hour). And we watched the sunset on the bridge + beach (at the end of Grand World is the beach).
Finally, we returned to the airport and returned the motorbike. End of the Phu Quoc trip.
