1. Ingredients:
- Glutinous rice: 1kg
- Green beans: 200 grams
- Turmeric powder + shallots + chicken fat
2. Steps to make delicious twisted sticky rice
Step 1: Prepare the ingredients.

- Clean the glutinous rice.
- Soak the glutinous rice with a little salt + turmeric powder to make the sticky rice colorful. Soak for about 7 - 8 hours (preferably soak from the previous evening to make the rice softer). Then rinse the rice thoroughly to remove the turmeric powder smell, and drain the water.

Prepare green beans.
- Soak green beans in clean water for about 2 - 3 hours for even swelling, then drain.

To quickly and efficiently make twisted sticky rice, you should choose peeled mung beans (mung beans without shells). Soak the mung beans from the previous evening for them to be softer. Especially, the next morning, you only need 30 minutes to have fragrant, delicious, rich and nutritious twisted sticky rice for the whole family.
Prepare onions.
- Peel and thinly slice dried onions, spread evenly on a tray and sun-dry for 1 hour to slightly dry them out, aiming to make crispy fried onions.

Prepare chicken fat.
- Clean chicken fat, thinly slice to remove water. Keep a few pieces to add to the sticky rice while cooking, it will make the rice grains shiny and have a delicious aroma.

Step 2: Proceed with cooking sticky rice.
- Place the steamer on the stove, when the water boils, reduce the heat and add the chicken fat rice to the steamer.
- After 15 minutes, use chopsticks to mix the sticky rice and chicken fat together, ensuring even cooking of the rice grains. Cook for about 20 minutes until the rice grains are no longer firm, indicating that the sticky rice is cooked.

- Mix mung beans with 1/2 teaspoon of salt, toss well, then steam until cooked (20 minutes).
- While the mung beans are still warm, immediately transfer them to a mortar and grind finely (or use a blender to blend until smooth), then tightly roll them into round balls and place them on a plate separately. Remember to handle the mung beans while they are still warm; the beans will not become mushy and separate.

Important: Glutinous rice and mung beans must be steamed separately. You can use a separate steamer for the sticky rice, while using the rice cooker steamer for steaming the mung beans.
- Use a pan to render chicken fat, remove the chicken fat solids to extract the fat for frying onions.
- Once the fat is hot, add the sliced onions, reduce the heat and fry until the onions turn golden brown, then turn off the heat. Remove the onions and spread them evenly on paper towels to drain excess fat.

Step 3: Presentation and enjoyment.
Spread the sticky rice on a plate, thinly slice the mung beans and place them on top of the rice, then sprinkle golden fried onions on top and drizzle chicken fat over it to complete the delicious and authentic twisted sticky rice dish.
