The tourism industry across the globe boasts distinctive logos and slogans, serving not only to showcase a nation's identity but also to captivate the attention of travelers, particularly those from abroad.
Below are the current logos and slogans of Southeast Asian countries. While Vietnam and the Philippines have opted for a complete revamp in their tourism promotion strategies with entirely new symbols and catchphrases, some other nations have chosen to maintain their current status quo but with additional special campaigns.
1. Vietnam
“Endless allure” has been chosen as Vietnam's new tourism slogan.
Replacing the former slogan “Vietnam – The Hidden Charm” during the period of 2012 – 2015, Vietnam's tourism will now utilize the new slogan “Vietnam – Endless Allure”.
Rather than changing its old logo and slogan, Thailand tourism has opted for promoting through special campaigns. Miracle Year is a prime example. Miracle Year is a strategic campaign of the country's tourism industry from now until 2015.
4. Laos
Laos maintains its old slogan - “Laos: Simply Beautiful”
Similar to Thailand, Laos also sticks with its tourism slogan. However, the country chooses to organize a special campaign each year to attract tourists worldwide.
In contrast to the aforementioned four countries, the tourism promotion slogans of the following countries have remained largely unchanged for many years:
5. Malaysia
“Malaysia: Authentically Asian”
In recent years, Malaysian tourism has made significant strides. Not only is it an ideal destination for many travelers, but it also ranks 2nd (after Singapore) in the World Economic Forum's list of countries with the best environment for tourism and travel development in Southeast Asia. Due to this reason, Malaysia continues to maintain its iconic tourism symbol and slogan: “Malaysia: Truly Asia”
6. Singapore
“Discover Singapore”
As one of the Southeast Asian countries with the most developed tourism industry, Singapore has been using its familiar slogan for many years: “Discover Singapore”
7. Indonesia
“Indonesia: Marvelous Archipelago”
8. Cambodia
“Cambodia: Land of Enchantment”
9. Brunei
“Brunei: Nature's Hidden Gem, The Kingdom of Surprising Wonders”
10. Myanmar
“Myanmar – Embark on Your Adventure”
The slogan Mystical Myanmar has been used by Myanmar for many years, but it has now been replaced with the slogan Myanmar – Let the journey begin, marking a new step for the country's tourism industry.
ASEAN?
ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) also has its own symbol and slogan to promote tourism in the region.
“South East Asia – Experience the Hospitality”
