Firstly, Rampart has been confirmed as the new legend in Apex Legends. Rampart is a private business owner, armed with nothing but a big gun and a backpack full of scrap iron, she can navigate the wild, dangerous world of the Outlands. Barren highlands like Skyhook become significantly more defensible when Rampart strategically places her Amped Cover. She can erect multiple high-cover sections up to the waist, enough to support 2/3 individuals. Combine those mobile walls with her Ultimate ability to disable Wattson's grenades, and you have an impregnable barrier.
Similarly, her Ultimate ability, a minigun named Sheila, can be used by anyone on the team, although Rampart has a faster reload speed for this firearm. Indeed, her passive ability both increases the ammunition count and reduces reload time for all LMGs.
For changes affecting every character, all shields are now Evo Shields, becoming stronger as you deal damage. The addition of a new crafting system ensures you don't have to scavenge from the start to build your defensive arsenal. If you prefer landing in a quiet spot, now you can collect crafting materials from specially marked bins and loot crates scattered throughout the map (with more drops as the rounds progress).

At Replicators, players can upgrade shields, choose from a variety of weapons and gear. There's an element of risk as players must wait while their items are crafted, but it's not much worse than waiting for a loot drop. And that's just the beginning of Season 6. There are plenty of other adjustments and changes, including a new energy SMG called the Volt, changes to how armor works, bug fixes, and much more.
