Design and Display

Until now, iQOO phones have typically fallen into the mid-range segment, but it seems that will change with the iQOO Neo 8 series. According to sources, the Chinese company will introduce a 'Pro' version this year, boasting incredibly premium specifications. However, the design of these phones will not undergo significant changes compared to the previous generation.

Recall that both the iQOO Neo 6 and 7 had similar designs with gently curved frames and backs. We've seen a rectangular camera module on both devices with the 'Neo' branding etched onto a shiny surface below it. Despite having polycarbonate backs, these phones look quite premium and feel beautiful in hand.

However, the design of the Neo 8 series has been altered. Official render images have revealed that both the iQOO Neo 8 and Neo 8 Pro will feature a rectangular camera module, but it won't span the entire width of the device. It's expected that both devices will have a triple camera setup. Leaked images show the Pro model with 'OIS' on the back, confirming the presence of optical image stabilization.

We haven't seen the front design of these phones yet, but it wouldn't be surprising if they feature flat screens and employ hole-punch designs to house the selfie cameras.

In terms of display quality, the iQOO Neo 8 is expected to feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with a high 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, along with 2160Hz PWM blur reduction technology. The Pro variant may also sport the same display but with a higher 144Hz refresh rate. These dual screens are anticipated to be powered by Vivo's dedicated V1+ imaging chip, accompanied by a high-speed 32MB buffer on the chip and support for three algorithms.

Previous iQOO Neo phones have typically focused on performance, and it seems the upcoming iQOO Neo 8 series will be no exception. According to previous leaks, the iQOO Neo 8 Pro will be powered by the latest and most powerful MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ chipset, along with an impressive 16GB LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB UFS 4.0 storage. On the other hand, the iQOO Neo 8 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset.

The camera system on these phones has also seen upgrades. Vivo has confirmed that the iQOO Neo 8 Pro will feature a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) support. This camera will use the Sony IMX866VCS sensor, promising users extremely high-quality photos. Some speculations suggest that the iQOO Neo 8 may also feature a 50MP main camera but with a different sensor and without OIS.

Both models in this product line are confirmed to feature a 5,000mAh battery with 120W fast charging technology. They will also include an under-display fingerprint sensor and come pre-installed with the Android 13 operating system.

Expected Price

The iQOO Neo 8 and Neo 8 Pro are expected to bring some noteworthy features, potentially leading to a higher price than the previous generation. Although exact figures are not available yet, the standard variant is predicted to have a starting price of around 350 - 400 USD (approximately 8.2 - 9.4 million VND).
