Thousands of ownerless statues placed closely together, creating a one-of-a-kind scene at Waterfall Bay, on Hong Kong Island.
Unearth the 8,000 Abandoned Statues at Waterfall Bay, Hong Kong
Located in the tranquil southwest area of Hong Kong Island, Waterfall Bay sits at the foot of a tall hill, beneath towering skyscrapers. A short walk from the waterfall along the scenic coastal path leads visitors to one of Hong Kong's most peculiar sights.

Initially, a few statues were placed at Waterfall Bay, but then caretakers of the area began adding more.
Disposal of sacred statues is considered taboo, so the statues were brought here. Most belong to the deceased. Volunteers secure the statues in positions overlooking the sea.

There is still space at Waterfall Bay for new statues to find rest in the future.
