Returning home after a prolonged business trip or vacation and planning to revive your refrigerator? Initially, conduct a thorough cleaning to eradicate any fridge odors and harmful bacteria lurking inside. Today, Mytour Supermarket is sharing some valuable tips on cleaning a refrigerator left unused for an extended period.
Step 1:
Open the fridge door and dismantle the shelves, trays, and compartments. Then, use a soft, water-absorbent cloth to delicately wipe away dirt inside the fridge from top to bottom. Perform this task gently to prevent any scratches.

Remove all food items from the fridge before initiating the cleaning process.
Step 2:
Use tissue paper to wipe and clean the refrigerator door handles.
Step 3:
For trays, vegetable drawers, and bottle racks that have been removed, use specialized cleaning solutions to wash them thoroughly in the sink. Opt for dedicated cleaning agents, avoiding strong chemicals. Alternatively, you can use vinegar or fresh lemon juice as substitutes.

Remove movable parts of the fridge, such as shelves and drawers, and give them a thorough cleaning.
Finally, rinse these items thoroughly with clean water and let them air dry.
Step 4:
Remember to clean the outside of the refrigerator. At times, it is the most prone to stains. Spray vinegar, wait for 1-2 minutes, then use a soft, clean, dry cloth to wipe the door and handles thoroughly.

Be mindful of wiping the compartments, including on the refrigerator door.
Step 5:
After completing the cleaning process and allowing it to dry, reattach the compartments and organize the food. Clean any exposed bottles, containers, and place them in the refrigerator.

Make sure everything inside your fridge is thoroughly dry before putting it back.
In just a few minutes, you can have your fridge cleaned and ready to use again. This helps eliminate unpleasant odors, mold, and bacteria, ensuring food safety.
