Nestled amidst the limestone mountains of Trai Son, in An Son commune, Thuy Nguyen, Hai Phong, the azure lake spans approximately 20 hectares, attracting curious tourists for exploration and photography.

What makes this lake exceptional is its rare azure hue. According to local residents, the azure color is attributed to the lake's considerable depth, formed from decades of limestone mining explosions. The lakebed is covered with a large amount of lime slurry, combined with mineral-rich rainwater, resulting in a crystal-clear azure shade that's incredibly enchanting. Mr. Nguyen Van Dang (Chairman of An Son Commune People's Committee) also attributes the lake's azure hue to the surrounding limestone mountains and the explosives used in mining.

The intensity of the azure hue varies depending on the sunlight's reflection throughout the day, leading many to mistakenly believe the lake has a magical ability to change its color.

Since this lake remains nameless, many call it the Emerald Lake, while some humorously refer to it as the Enchantment Gorge. In a clip sent by Mr. Dang Thanh Tung to Mytour, he named it the Thach Le Lake, acknowledging that despite its origin in human devastation, its beauty is undeniable.
Apart from the blue lake in Hai Phong, you can visit Lê Nin Spring in Cao Bang, Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, or the abandoned stone quarry lakes in Thu Duc, Ba Ria Vung Tau, all of which also exhibit this peculiar green hue. However, it is absolutely essential not to swim in these bodies of water due to their low temperatures and unpredictable depths, which pose a risk of unfortunate accidents if not approached with caution.
