The Windows Firewall Control 5 release expands the features of the built-in Windows Firewall and introduces new features, including options like 'Auto refresh on open' and 'Auto receive updates' for the Connections Log. The main window displays current connections of Windows Firewall, and users can access the program's website through the About tab.
Additionally, there are options for manual updates, along with various bug fixes, all detailed on the program's website.
After installation, the program offers users one of four basic filtering modes: None, Low, Medium, or High. It is recommended to use the Medium setting to control outgoing connections, but note that by default, all outgoing connections will be blocked until rules are created. In case of any issues, set the mode to Low to temporarily address the problem.
The easiest way to add a rule is to use the Click a program window button on the Windows Firewall Control window, then click on the program window you want to grant access to. Alternatively, rules can be manually created by selecting individual executable programs.

The key point here is that the Notifications System will streamline the process of adding rules through Learning Mode, automatically allowing connections for programs signed with digital signatures.
