The sunflower fields have become a magnet for many young enthusiasts, drawn to the enchanting beauty during the blooming season. Located in Nghĩa Đàn district, approximately 260 km south of Hanoi, these sunflower fields are nurtured and cared for by TH Truemilk company. The sunflower festival was first organized in 2016 and is expected to attract a large number of tourists and adventurous youth this year as well.

Sunflowers belong to the Asteraceae family, thriving in moist soil with moderate temperatures. Contrary to common belief, sunflowers actually prefer avoiding extreme heat during summer. The phenomenon of sunflowers turning towards the sun is triggered by the biological clock within the plant detecting light, activating growth genes. Moreover, their sun-loving nature attracts various insects for pollination.
Embarking from Hanoi to the floral fields of Nghĩa Đàn, Nghệ An takes approximately 5-6 hours. Here, you can capture beautiful moments and snap photos amidst the flower fields. Groups of young adventurers can plan day trips conveniently along the Hồ Chí Minh route. The flower garden is easily accessible and relatively easy to locate. Perhaps, this will be a refreshing destination for the weekend. The air here is remarkably fresh, worth the effort for a nature-inspired journey and to bask in the refreshing atmosphere.
You can head to Mỹ Đình Bus Station or Nước Ngầm Bus Station to book a coach ticket from Hanoi to Nghĩa Đàn. The bus fare is only around 150,000 VND per way. Upon arrival at Nghĩa Đàn bus station or Thái Hòa town, you can take a motorbike taxi to the flower garden.
If you visit during March - April, the weather is quite pleasant, with the spring season in full swing. Trees are budding, and flowers are in full bloom. The flower garden stands out amidst the vast sky, with each sunflower resembling a tiny sun, reaching upwards towards the light of life.
If you visit during November to December, expect a nip in the air and dry weather. Some days might not be ideal, so be sure to bundle up with hats and warm scarves for your health. The vibrant hues of sunflowers add warmth to the chilly atmosphere, refreshing the winter landscape.
