In addition to native Vietnamese flower varieties, the village also cultivates many imported or hybrid flower species. 2. Huynh Thuy Le Ancient House
Alongside Sa Dec Flower Village, Huynh Thuy Le Ancient House is also a fascinating tourist spot in Dong Thap, closely tied to the region's developmental history. Built in 1895 in the bustling trading area along the Sa Dec River, the house has undergone renovations and become a harmonious blend of Eastern and Western architectural styles.
Notably, this location is closely associated with the cross-border love story of Mr. Huynh Thuy Le and the French writer Marguerite Duras. This three-compartment house covers a total area of 258m2 with an impressive facade resembling a French villa and interior space in Chinese style. The roof, thick brick walls, decorative tiles, arched doors, gilded ornate furniture, and Renaissance-style carvings are characteristic features of this over 100-year-old house.

If you want to explore this structure further, you can book a tour to visit the ancient house and stay overnight in this famous residence.

The lotus leaves can grow up to a maximum diameter of 4m and have edges as high as 5cm (from the water surface). These unique leaves resemble the traditional conical hats worn by Quan Ho singers and can withstand up to 80kg. To witness the most beautiful and abundant blooming of lotus leaves, it's best to visit during the flooding season (around August to November).
