Where is Dak Tuar Stone Cave located?
Dak Tuar Stone Cave is located next to Dak Tuar waterfall, about 6km upstream from the center of Cu Pui commune, Krông Bông district, Đắk Lắk province. Throughout the years of resistance against the United States, Dak Tuar Stone Cave served as the headquarters for the Provincial Party Committee of Đắk Lắk and the main military units of the province.
In 1991, Hang Đá Dak Tuar was recognized as a historical relic. Since then, Hang Đá Dak Tuar has increasingly become famous in the list of must-visit tourist destinations in Đắk Lắk. This location not only attracts Vietnamese war veterans but also appeals to American veterans who eagerly want to return here.
What does Dak Tuar Stone Cave offer?
Located in the Chư Yang Sin mountain range, the Dak Tuar stone cave system comprises multiple layers and hidden spaces deep within the mountains, capable of accommodating hundreds of military units. Throughout the years of resistance against the United States, this was the headquarters of the Provincial Party Committee of Đắk Lắk and the main military units of the province.
Due to its treacherous terrain, our Provincial Party Committee and resistance agencies chose this location as the main base. From here, the leadership united the people of various ethnic groups in resistance. Despite numerous attempts by the U.S. imperialists, including bombings and sweeps to destroy our revolutionary base, they all failed.
In 1965, from the caves of Dak Tuar, the Krông Bông ethnic people rose up to fight against the enemy's oppression, liberating a vast land in the district. Following that, the entire province's resistance forces completely liberated Buôn Mê Thuột in 1975.
For those inclined towards adventure and exploration, this place holds a mysterious charm perfect for adventurous journeys. Young students, scholars, and soldiers come here to understand and explore, broadening their knowledge about the independence of our country, built upon the sweat and blood of our ancestors.
The road leading to Dak Tuar is undergoing renovation, facilitating visits to this place. With the Dak Tuar tourism development project by the Department of Commerce and Tourism of Đắk Lắk Province, this destination will surely be preserved and attract even more tourists.
