Where is Bình Lập?
Located in the Four Bình - Cam Ranh coastal area, yet this place is little known to tourists because it is almost completely isolated from the outside world. It is about 80km away from the center of Nha Trang city. Bình Lập is known as the Maldives of Vietnam. It boasts a simple and rustic beauty with smooth white sand beaches and incredibly refreshing turquoise waters.

Best Time to Travel!
As it belongs to Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa, this place also experiences a tropical climate with distinct rainy and dry seasons, and a mild climate year-round. Therefore, you can visit Binh Lap Beach at any time of the year. However, the most suitable time is from June to August. This is when the weather transitions from summer to autumn, with clear blue skies, cool refreshing waves, and glittering golden sands, perfect for your 'relaxing yet mesmerizing' photoshoots. Additionally, if you choose to visit here in October and November, it's advisable to check the weather forecast beforehand, as sometimes there may be thunderstorms that could affect your travel plans.

Getting to Binh Lap
Despite being a relatively remote island, you can still easily reach it. To get here, first you need to reach Cam Ranh, then move to Ba Ngoi port or Cam Lap commune. You can travel by plane, car, or train to Cam Ranh.

Motorbikes are also a popular means of transportation. If starting from Cam Ranh, travel along National Highway 1A. Be cautious, as this road has quite a few large vehicles passing through. Alternatively, for a bit of luxury, you can choose a canoe to reach Binh Lap. Sitting on a canoe, you'll admire the sea view, with the distant homes of fishing villagers, and behind them, green mountains covered in shade.
There are 3 routes for you to reach Binh Lap island:
- Firstly, departing from Cam Ranh: Starting from Cam Ranh Airport, drive along National Highway 1A and turn onto DT702 road towards Vinh Hy Bay. It takes about 1 hour to cover the 40km distance. Since the road crosses National Highway 1A, there are many large vehicles that may pose risks, so be cautious. However, there's a stretch along the coast for scenic views of the sea.
- Secondly, departing from Phan Rang: Starting from Phan Rang City, also drive along National Highway 1A for about 40km until reaching petrol station 74, then turn right onto DT702 road towards Ngoc Suong Resort. Although this route has some dangerous sections, it passes through Nui Chua and Kien Kien, offering beautiful scenery. You can also stop to explore the stunning Kien Kien stream before heading to Binh Lap island.
- Thirdly, taking the coastal route: Starting from Phan Rang City, drive past Nai and Vua lagoons, through Nui Chua National Park on DT702 road. This 65km route offers the most beautiful coastal scenery in the country, with the sea on one side and rocky mountains on the other. Before reaching Binh Lap island, you'll pass Rai Cave, Vinh Hy Bay, Nuoc Ngot stream, Ba Ngoi port to Binh Ba, Kinh beach to Binh Hung, Binh Tien village, and other famous beaches like Chuoi, Nuoc Ngot, Binh Tien,… It's advisable to fill up your fuel tank beforehand and carry some tools for vehicle repairs because this route has many hills and mostly sees motorcycles and tourist vehicles, so there are few gas stations or repair shops along the way.

Traveling by plane is very convenient. From Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, you can quickly book a flight to Cam Ranh Airport. Currently, both Vietjet and Jetstar airlines offer cheap flights for you to choose from.
From Ho Chi Minh City, besides flying, you can also take the train by purchasing tickets to Cam Ranh or Phan Rang, or travel by bus from the Eastern bus station. It takes a bit longer, usually overnight, but you can still enjoy the scenery along the way. To reach Binh Lap island, simply rent a motorbike or taxi to continue to the island. You can take Phuong Trang bus if going to Cam Ranh or Hoang Anh bus if going to Phan Rang. The rental price for a motorbike ranges from 100,000 to 120,000 VND per person, which is a common rate, but at some rental points in Phan Rang, tourists may need to deposit 1,000,000 VND before they are handed the bike.

Due to the area's still quite pristine nature, there aren't many tourist services available yet. You can choose to dine in upscale restaurants within resorts like Ngoc Suong, Sao Bien, and Dao Hoa Vang, which offer dishes ranging from the simplest to the most luxurious. Alternatively, if your budget doesn't allow for that, you can opt for eateries outside. Most eateries are concentrated in Binh Chau and Ngang beaches with a wide variety of dishes. At the beginning of Binh Lap village, there are three eateries: Ba Chi Em, Cay Xoai, and Lang Bien Seafood, though these places are somewhat small partly due to the low number of customers. Going deeper into the village, you might want to visit Thanh Tra eatery, renowned for its chicken and seafood dishes. The grilled chicken is deliciously seasoned and the seafood is also good. If you want to eat lobster, you'll need to make a reservation in advance for the restaurant to prepare it. Additionally, many customers also order seafood fried rice here. Another eatery near Sao Bien resort is Hung Phuc, where the prices are cheaper compared to the aforementioned places but the food is still delicious. The restaurant is spacious with a breezy view, offering a wide selection of seafood for diners to choose from.
