- Sugar: 130 grams
- Custard powder: 90 grams
- Milk powder: 60 grams
- Cornstarch: 15 grams
- Margarine: 115 grams
Dough part 1:
- All-purpose flour: 250 grams
- Yeast: 3 grams

- Cooking oil: 3ml
Dough part 2:
- All-purpose flour: 75 grams
- 1 egg white
- Sugar: 30 grams
- Milk powder: 10 grams
- Yeast: 4 grams
How to make lychee steamed buns:
Step 1:
- Boil the eggs for about 10 minutes until cooked, then peel them.
- Separate the egg whites, keep the yolks, let them cool, then mash them.
- Mix the egg yolks with the ingredients in the filling part to blend evenly, until smooth.
- Scoop the filling into the compartments of an ice tray.
- Wrap the filling with plastic wrap and place it in the freezer overnight until it hardens.

Step 2:
- Put sugar, cooking oil, warm water in a bowl, then pour flour on top, creating a hole and pour dry yeast into it.
- Use the dough hook attachment of the stand mixer to knead the dough or knead it by hand, then cover the dough and let it rise for about 1 hour.

- Then add the second set of ingredients, knead the dough again and let it rise for another 30 minutes.

Step 3:
- Once the dough has risen, divide it into equal portions. Place in a steamer over boiling water.
- Flatten each piece of dough and place a filling in the center, then wrap it tightly.

- Depending on the width of the steamer, decide the number of buns to steam at once, each batch takes about 8 - 10 minutes.

Important:
- When kneading the dough, fold the dough into the center, then push it away. The initial kneading process may require more dry flour to prevent sticking.
- Rotate the dough block 90 degrees, continue to stretch, fold, and twist. Repeat until the dough is soft and elastic.
- Cover the dough with a cloth or plastic wrap. Let the dough rest in a warm, humid place for about 30 minutes before shaping.
The lychee steamed buns are best enjoyed while still hot. Holding a warm bun in your hand and savoring it with a cup of tea is pure bliss. The perfect lychee steamed bun has a soft, fluffy exterior and a neither too runny nor too thick filling. A breakfast with lychee steamed buns and a cup of hot milk is not only delicious but also nutritious.
For unbaked buns, wrap them tightly in plastic wrap and store in the freezer. When ready to eat, thaw the buns and steam as usual. For fully cooked buns, let them cool, wrap tightly in plastic wrap, and store in the freezer. Before serving, thaw and steam for 3 - 5 minutes in a pot or microwave for about 40 seconds (cover the buns tightly to prevent drying out). Buns can be stored in the freezer for 4 - 6 weeks. These products are commonly available in supermarkets, specialty food stores, and especially in baking supply stores.
