Forget about soups, stews, or grilled fish - switch up your menu with irresistibly enticing fried fish balls. Let's learn how to make them below!
Making fried fish balls isn't overly complicated, but this dish is best reserved for weekends. Especially if your kids aren't usually fans of fish, they're guaranteed to love this dish. The fragrant aroma of the fish, combined with the crispy layer of batter and dipping sauce, is simply unbeatable.

Ingredients:
- 300 grams of premium cod fillet.
- 3 tablespoons of cornstarch.
- 1 packet of tempura flour.
- 3 large eggs.
- Dried shallots, garlic.
- Spring onions, cilantro.
- 2 pieces of horn pepper.
- 1 cucumber.
- Seasoning: Bouillon powder, fish sauce, sugar, pepper, cooking oil.
How to make fried fish balls:
Step 1:
- Clean and finely chop the dried shallots and garlic.
- Pick and finely chop spring onions and cilantro after washing thoroughly.

- Wash and finely chop horn peppers (you can skip them if you don't like spicy).
- Wash cucumbers thoroughly, scrub both ends to remove bitterness, then slice into rounds and arrange on a serving plate for garnish.

Step 2:
- Slice the cod fillet into small pieces, then marinate with chopped dried shallots, garlic, finely chopped chili, chopped spring onions, finely chopped cilantro, 2 teaspoons of bouillon powder, 1 tablespoon of fish sauce, 1 teaspoon of pepper, 1 teaspoon of MSG for 15 minutes to allow the fish to absorb the seasoning.
- Then place it in the freezer for 1 hour to firm up the fish.
- Crack eggs into a bowl, beat well with a pinch of salt, then add tempura flour and mix until smooth to get a uniform mixture.
Step 3:
- Take the marinated fish out of the freezer, put the fish and flour into a blender, and blend until smooth.
- Then transfer the blended mixture into a mixing bowl.
- Pour some cooking oil into a small bowl, wear disposable gloves, dip your fingers in the oil, divide the fish mixture into equal portions, roll into round balls, and place them on a plate.

Step 4:
- Heat a pan on the stove and add enough oil to deep fry the fish balls. Once the oil is hot, reduce the heat to low and carefully drop each ball into the hot oil, frying them in batches until golden brown and cooked through.
- When the fish balls turn evenly golden brown and emit a tempting aroma, indicating they are cooked, remove them from the pan and place on a plate. Arrange the crispy fish balls on a serving dish along with the prepared cucumbers.

Finished Product: The plated fried fish balls should be beautifully presented, with a golden color, enticing aroma, rich flavor, and tender texture.
In addition to cod, you can also use other types of fish such as tilapia or mackerel. Wishing you success!
Basa fish is known as a key export item of Vietnam, recognized for its nutritious value contributing to everyone's health. Basa is a freshwater fish rich in essential acids beneficial for health, yet it's much more affordable. Moreover, DHA in basa fish helps convert cholesterol into non-artery-blocking derivatives, reducing heart palpitations. Omega-3 fatty acids prevent arterial stiffness, decrease aging risk, and enhance brain stability. Additionally, easily digestible iron in basa fish aids in maintaining a slender figure for women. Therefore, homemakers should regularly incorporate basa fish into their family's diet.
