This dish offers a simple yet effective way to incorporate essential nutrients into your diet without spending excessive time in the kitchen. Follow our guide below to prepare a delicious and nourishing beef and bean stew for your family meal.
Ingredients:

- 500g beef
- 2 carrots
- 1 packet coconut water
- 200g white beans
- 100g Dutch beans
- 20g mustard seeds
- Seasonings: Salt, pepper, sugar, seasoning powder, cooking oil, cornstarch, etc.
- Garlic: ½ bulb
- Shallot: 1 bulb
Tip: Opt for beef sirloin for this dish as it offers both tenderness and flavor when braised.
How to Cook Beef and Bean Dish:
- Peel and finely chop garlic.
- Peel and wash carrots, then cut into bite-sized pieces.

- Wash the beef with diluted salt water, then cut into bite-sized pieces. Marinate the beef with 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon pepper, 1 tablespoon sugar, finely chopped garlic, 1 teaspoon seasoning powder, 1 teaspoon cooking oil to enhance flavor before cooking.
- White beans cook relatively quickly, so you can soak them for about 1 hour or 30 minutes beforehand. If preferred, soaking the beans beforehand is optional.

- Place a pot on the stove, add a little cooking oil and finely chopped shallots, sauté until fragrant, then add the beef and stir-fry. Once the beef is firm, add coconut water and cook together.
- Once the beef in the pot starts boiling, taste and adjust seasoning as needed. You may need to add more water for simmering because the coconut water alone may not be enough to tenderize the beef. When the pot is boiling, skim off any foam that rises to the surface.
- Place another pan on the stove, add some oil and mustard seeds, you can add a bit more oil to enhance the red color of the beef and bean dish. When the mustard seeds turn reddish, turn off the heat, strain this colored oil into the soup pot, then use a ladle to mix well.

- After simmering the beef for 30 minutes, add the white beans and continue cooking together. After 15 minutes, add the Dutch beans and carrots, then taste and adjust seasoning.

When all the ingredients are cooked, you can add a bit of cornstarch to the soup pot to create a thicker consistency. Then turn off the heat, ladle the beef into a bowl, add some cilantro and freshly ground black pepper.
