Venerable Thich Nhat Tu, born Trần Ngọc Thảo on April 1, 1969, hails from Bình Dương province and currently resides in Ho Chi Minh City. He successfully defended his doctoral thesis in philosophy at Allahabad University in 2001.
Thich Nhat Tu, also known as Tran Ngoc Thao, is the founder of the current Buddhist An Tong Society and Buddhist Charity Association. He is also the head of the Vietnamese Buddhist Canon. Since the early days of his monastic training, Thich Nhat Tu has gained profound insights from senior monks, scriptures, laws, and debates, establishing a solid foundation in the original Buddhist thought and Mahayana Buddhism.
