Lost in the embrace of dusk, memories stir once more. A boat drifts leisurely, hearts lingering in the shadows by the riverbank. Gentle waves caress the shore, deepening the ache of absence. Will the days gone ever return, or will they vanish like the wind carries sorrowful hearts away?

Illustration (source: internet)As the rain pours down, painting the sky with the hues of summer, nature awakens. The earth moistens, nurturing the tender shoots of leaves, while fields of green sway with the dance of ripened grains.
In the early summer rain, a serene melody fills the air. Across the gentle flow of streams, lotus blooms drift in dreamy clusters, as dragonflies glide gracefully on delicate wings.
A tranquil scene unfolds after a refreshing slumber. Lotus buds unfurl, eagerly embracing the nourishing rain, while playful ducklings frolic in the shimmering waters, longing for a carefree shower stroll.

Returning to our old school days together, reminiscing in the warm summer breeze. Teachers, old friends, and those familiar desks. Memories just a reach away.

REMINISCENCE OF THE OLD TOWN
By Tran Duy Hanh
( Hanoi, April 30, 1976 )
At the beginning of the intense milk flower season
Embracing the long street I adore
Children gather early in the evening
Just to be happy… without any reason.
.
The summer sun paints the phoenix flowers red
The wind carries the nostalgic sound of cicadas
Innocent eyes lift kites
Full of countless dreams.
.
Those times bathing in the rain flooding the streets
Those times urging each other to climb trees
The rough marks are scratched
Small scars bear countless memories…
.
My childhood I sought
By walking along the road
Returning to beloved memories
Every time the seasons change.
The streets now no longer empty
No longer silent summer evenings
No one tells tales of starfruit, tamarind
So be it… reminiscing the old town.

Illustration photo (source: internet)Poem: APRIL EMOTIONS - Land of Memories
April emotions drift with the gentle breeze,
Crickets hum sorrow on pale trumpet flowers.
Who soothes my lingering wounds,
Or coldly casts into indifference?

In the embrace of memories, Bui Van Huy reminisces,
Through countless seasons of phoenix flowers,
Along paths adorned with tender reminiscence,
Amidst the tumult of separation, we return to the school of cherished memories.
Hand in hand, we jest like in days of yore,
Carefree as we were in our youth,
Those fleeting school days, where could we find them now?
We treasure what remains as memories.

11. Poem: APRIL DAYS - by Hong Vu
APRIL'S DAY
By Hong Vu
Golden sunlight shining bright
Strolling through the streets
Each falling leaf in rain's delight
Footsteps briskly meet
The scent of horns fills the air
Transitional seasons in a haze
Just shaken from winter's lair
But now the summer sun's blaze
Fresh green leaves above conceal
A cluster of white blooms there
The sun's drops in a giddy reel
Wind's laughter fills the air
Touches a longing from afar
Suddenly stirred by the yellowing rain
Beside you in gentle silk
Falling on the hem, sunset's strain

Illustrative image (source: internet)Summer Returns - by Tran Thi Tinh
Summer arrives with the chirping of cicadas,
Red phoenix flowers bloom brightly,
Golden rice fields stretch across the plains,
Twisting smoke weaves through the evening, intoxicatingly dense.
Kite flutes soar through the layers of clouds,
Calling out joyfully, birds sing in the trees,
Dusk scatters golden threads,
Faintly purple violet sim flowers blend into the evening forest...
Lulling the souls of wandering travelers,
In a daze... an entire dreamy afternoon slips away.

In the bustling streets of April, amidst the crowd bathed in harsh sunlight, do you hear the whispers of the trumpet flowers, unfolding their delicate white petals?

DOUBLING APRIL
Author: Thanh Nhàn
I double April
Tidily put into the compartment of memories
Hide the sadness deep inside the chest
Because a lie makes me believe.
April comes with confusion in a glance
Gentle white like buds about to bloom
The sun is golden teasing the longing
I shine with the promise you just gave.
Halfway through April, the wind still whispers
The early season rain passes in a hurry
The old sầu tree drops its leaves
The old street is wet with yellow leaves.
I alone wander through the streets
April ponders to bid farewell to spring and welcome summer
I ponder to bid farewell to someone going far away
South, do you still remember the seasonal transition?
April in Saigon thirsts for rain
Like the blue sky thirsts for white clouds
Like my love thirsts for a dedicatory song
Even if it's just the tip of the tongue.
Suddenly, the longing becomes distant
When the pink trumpet flowers bloom radiantly
When the pink trumpet plays an unfinished melody
I still await the lie that makes me believe!
