Chivalry 2, the sequel to the 2012 title, continues the legacy of a game born from a mod. Following the success of Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, the second installment is set to debut in June this year.
Chivalry 2 is a first-person hack-and-slash game set in the medieval backdrop of Europe, akin to For Honor. While primarily catering to multiplayer gameplay, it offers training for meticulous guidance on character classes and weapons before venturing into heated online battles.
Deathloop – Arkane Studios / Bethesda Softworks
Deathloop, the next game from Arkane Studios (known for Dishonored and Prey), is an FPS set in the 1960s. Players embody Colt, using weapons like guns and daggers to seek freedom and escape an infinite loop on a time-frozen island.
Participants' goal in Deathloop is to escape the time trap by assassinating 8 targets believed to be members of the AEON Program before the midnight deadline. Failure leads to another repeated pursuit. The game's central concept of a 'time loop' ensures respawns each time you're taken down.
The game also introduces a special character, Julianna, the world's top-notch assassin, ensuring no one can defy the rules set by the game. Players must confront and triumph over Julianna to 'break the loop' in Deathloop.
Far Cry 6 – Ubisoft Toronto / Ubisoft
In the AAA game Far Cry 6, players step into the shoes of Dani, a dropout turned soldier nurtured on the fictional island of Yara. Essentially Cuba, Ubisoft opted for an imaginary name to sidestep political issues. Throughout Dani's youth, war ravaged her home, shattering everything for years. Players will follow Dani on a mission to overthrow the tyrant Anton Castillo and reclaim freedom for the homeland.
Returnal – Housemarque / Sony Interactive Entertainment
In Returnal, you assume the role of Selene Vassos, an astronaut on a mission aboard her spaceship. She stumbles upon a signal named White Shadow and decides to investigate, despite Astra corporation's orders not to approach.
Her spaceship loses control, crashing onto a planet with the White Shadow signal called Atropos. It's a strange and eerie planet, where she encounters her own corpse, even though she's never been here before. Determined to unravel the mysteries unfolding on this planet, she faces numerous dangers and seeks a way to return home once everything becomes clear.
