1. Hien Luong Bridge – Ben Hai River
In 1954, the Geneva Agreement decided to use the 17th parallel as the military demarcation line temporarily. The iconic landmark, Hien Luong Bridge – Ben Hai River, became the dividing line, separating our country for 21 years.
Hien Luong Bridge spans the Ben Hai River in Vinh Thanh Commune, Vinh Linh District, Quang Tri Province. The nearly 180-meter bridge, constructed with iron piles and wooden planks, consists of 7 spans. In the middle, a white line serves as a boundary. Ben Hai River marks the boundary between Vinh Linh and Gio Linh districts. Hien Luong Bridge and Ben Hai River form a special historical site, a must-visit in Quang Tri. The Suspension Bridge of Đakrông stands as the focal point in the historical and scenic area of Đakrông, located along National Highway 9 in the town of Đakrông, Quảng Trị province.
