In today's travel scene, checking in on Facebook is a must. But what places top the charts for check-ins worldwide?

Skift just unveiled the ultimate list of frequently checked-in spots, and surprisingly, airports take the lead.
Except for a few airports with exceptional facilities and services that entice travelers to explore, airport check-ins are mainly for location announcements or venting about long flights.
The top check-in spots exclude airports and feature Disneyland, Times Square in New York, Siam Paragon shopping district in Bangkok, Central Plaza Ladprao in Bangkok, Yankee Stadium, AT&T Park, Harkins Theatres, Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, Walt Disney World, Dodger Stadium, and Taipei Main Station in Taiwan.

In the top 10 check-in spots, 6 are US airports, with Los Angeles International Airport leading the pack. Two Asian airports, Hong Kong International Airport and Suvarnabhumi Airport in Thailand, made the top 10. Other Asian airports in the top 50 include Taoyuan International Airport in Taiwan, Singapore Changi Airport, and Incheon International Airport in South Korea.
