Escape the hustle and bustle of Saigon with just a 4-hour drive, Phan Thiet awaits as your perfect short getaway. Dive into the meticulously planned itinerary for an unforgettable journey.
Uncover the Hidden Gems of Phan Thiet in 3 Days and 2 Nights
1. Where to Stay?
I've reserved two charming accommodations: Eva Hut and Meraki Oasis, both nestled on Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street:
– Eva Hut: Embrace the laid-back Western vibes at this cozy hotel. The owner is incredibly friendly and accommodating. You can even borrow a kitchen for some culinary adventures or camp by the beach for a unique experience. Room rates range from 200-350k VND. Due to my late booking, only a 200k VND room with shared bathroom was available.
– Meraki Oasis: This place is a true Instagram heaven, no doubt. Just strolling around the hotel yields a whole photo album without venturing far. Room prices range from 600-1100k VND inclusive of breakfast. I booked a room on the second floor with a round window, offering a stunning sea view.

2. What to Eat?
– Meraki Oasis: Had a delightful lunch here, the food perfectly suited my taste buds. Priced at 249k per serving for 2 people or 449k per serving for 4 people.
– Bibo: This restaurant on Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street specializes in fresh seafood. Prices are reasonable, and the food is delicious. My spouse and I spent nearly 700k VND here and felt quite satisfied (including crabs, clams, squid, and oysters).
– Huong Viet Restaurant: We also had lunch here, mainly traditional dishes as per the restaurant's name. We ordered a seafood fried rice, an egg fried rice, and a vegetable soup, all for 230k VND. This meal can feed 3-4 people as the portions are generous and every dish is delicious and enticing.
3. What to Do?
Exploring Phan Thiet is incomplete without experiencing these fun-filled and Instagram-worthy spots.
– Chameleon Beach Bar: This bar closes on Tuesdays, so take note. Drinks range from 40-100k VND, with predominantly Thai food at reasonable prices. I visited in the afternoon, so didn't dine here.

– Cargo Remote Mui Ne: Recommended by Eva from Eva Hut, but I didn't have time to visit. I checked their Facebook page and the view seems stunning, with a luxurious Western vibe. Drinks priced around 40-120k VND.
– I also tried the Mui Ne jeep tour experience. Price is around 570k VND for 4 people. We departed at 8:30 in the morning.

– White Sand Dunes is a must-visit spot in Phan Thiet. Vast stretches of towering, white sand dunes extend as far as the eye can see.

– Next, we ventured down the legendary road with the magical golden jeep. The road hugged by the sea on one side and sparkling white sand on the other. We chose the right-side jeep for a better view. Drinks priced at 15-25k VND. Coconut water at 25k VND is refreshing and delicious.

– Mui Ne Fishing Village: Passed by and saw many fishing boats, so I asked the driver to stop for a quick photo session.

After my Phan Thiet trip, I've gathered some tips for those planning to visit here.
– Even though it's by the sea, it gets dark quickly here. Around 4 PM, the sun is gone, so if you want sunny photos, go early.
– Renting a jeep is more fun and cheaper with a bigger group. Plus, you should opt for a jeep because the roads are quite far, riding a motorbike will be tiring, and once you're there, no more posing in the sun.
– For beach shots, go early before 11 AM as the sand will be wider and cleaner.
– All the eateries, hotels, and resorts are on Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street, but it's quite long so you'll need a motorbike to get around.
Here are some of my experiences after visiting Phan Thiet. Hopefully, they can help you have a complete and meaningful trip.
