Hoi An's traditional craft villages mesmerize tourists not only with their characteristic traditional products but also with their rare serene beauty.
Explore the surprising charm of 3 traditional craft villages in Hoi An
Tra Que Vegetable Village
Tra Que Vegetable Village is located 2km northeast of the ancient town of Hoi An. Here, you will witness the entire process of growing vegetables according to the “green-clean-beautiful” standards.

The villagers will guide visitors on how to plant, care for, and harvest vegetables so that you can experience sowing seeds and watering vegetables yourself. Additionally, you can enjoy dishes made with typical green vegetables from Tra Que like Quang noodles, Cao Lau... and take a buffalo ride around the village.

Thanh Ha Pottery Village
Situated along the Thu Bon River, Thanh Ha Pottery Village lies within Thanh Ha Ward, Hoi An City, approximately 2km west of the ancient town. In the 16th and 17th centuries, Thanh Ha flourished, renowned for its pottery products, exchanged and traded across the provinces of Central Vietnam. The pottery craft of the village originates from Thanh Hoa, evolving into the pottery village seen today after absorbing various technical know-hows.

The primary products in Thanh Ha include daily-life utensils such as bowls, plates, jars, vases, flower pots, and various figurines... boasting diverse shapes, colors, and notably lighter weight compared to similar products from other localities.

Visitors to the craft village not only witness the artistic talent of artisans but also receive guidance to personally create traditional handicraft products here.
Kim Bong Carpentry Village
Located in Cam Kim commune, Kim Bong Carpentry Village boasts a history dating back 600 years. Under the reign of the Nguyen Lords, Kim Bong earned fame for its exquisite woodwork, crafting each boat and house with precision. Furthermore, the architecture of houses and temples in Hoi An's ancient town is also attributed to the skilled hands of Kim Bong carpenters.

To reach here, tourists simply need to take a boat from the ancient town for about 10 minutes. Upon setting foot on this land, the rustic sounds and atmosphere immediately captivate visitors, making it an enticing tourist destination. The wooden products in this craft village are praised for their gentle, rustic yet exquisite qualities. Here, tourists can find themselves purchasing ornamental panels, wooden statues, seating chairs, or even unique small toys polished lightly to preserve their natural colors.

Currently, Kim Bong Carpentry Village no longer focuses heavily on boat-making as before; instead, it specializes in producing exquisite handicrafts. However, the essence and skillfulness are still strongly evident in each product.
