New Sleek White Retail Box
As rumored, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max come packaged in an all-new sleek white box, a departure from the previous premium 'Pro' iPhones that sported a darker gray box. Despite the new box color, there are no apparent changes to the unboxing experience for the new iPhone.Brighter True Tone Flash
Similar to the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, the more premium duo, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, feature a new True Tone flash. In certain conditions, it can be twice as bright as previous generations.'The new adaptive True Tone flash adjusts the type and intensity of the 9 LED lights depending on the focal length of the image, ensuring your subject always appears in optimal lighting conditions,' Apple stated on its website. Utilizing the new flash, larger lens, and advanced image processing, users can capture photos in low light conditions twice as well on the main camera and three times better on the Ultra Wide camera.Truly Interactive Dynamic Island
At first glance, you might think Dynamic Island is merely visually appealing, displaying information related to interesting dynamic images. However, it's actually a fully interactive part of the screen that you can touch. For instance, tapping on Dynamic Island while music is playing will open the Music app. If the timer is running, tapping on Dynamic Island will display a new user interface at the top of the screen to show the remaining time and relevant controls.Enhanced Cinematic Mode
Introduced with the iPhone 13 lineup, Cinematic Mode allows iPhone users to capture subject-focused videos while elegantly blurring the background. With the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro series, Apple is enhancing Cinematic Mode to now support 4K HDR video at 24 and 30 frames per second. Similar to previous iPhone 13 models, users can adjust the focus of the subject after recording video within the Photos app.Enhanced Sensors for Car Collision Detection
With all models of iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro, as well as the new Apple Watch models, Apple has integrated a car accident detection feature into its devices. The new feature can determine if users are involved in a car accident by using a range of enhanced sensors. On iPhone 14 models, a new high G-force accelerometer can detect accelerations or decelerations up to 256 Gs. The car accident detection feature also utilizes a barometer to detect pressure changes, such as those caused by airbags, and more sensitive microphones that can detect extreme sounds when users are driving.mmWave 5G Variant Reserved Exclusively for the US Market
mmWave versions of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro remain limited to the United States, two years after the first 5G iPhone. mmWave 5G is a faster standard of 5G and requires additional antennas. mmWave iPhones have only been available in the US since the first 5G-supported models in 2020 and have not expanded to other countries, including Canada or European countries.
