Discover Unveiled iOS 17 Features You Might Not Know About

Following the conclusion of WWDC 2023 keynote, Apple has released the initial beta version of iOS 17 for developers to test.

Currently, early adopters of this operating system have been consistently exploring the new features of iOS 17. Below are some notable changes you may not be aware of in the latest iOS version.

Ping Your Apple Watch

If you're wearing an Apple Watch paired with your iPhone, Apple has added an optional button in the Control Center that lets you locate your watch if it happens to go missing.

Enhanced Siri Suggestions in Spotlight

When you swipe down on the home screen to access search, you'll notice some neat context-aware tricks have been added to Siri Suggestions, such as suggesting to set a new alarm or note if you've recently used those apps. When searching for a specific app like Photos, you'll also get app shortcuts for your next actions, such as jumping straight to your Favorite album.

Additionally, you can directly toggle certain system settings from within Siri Suggestions results. For example: you can enable Focus mode, airplane mode, or disable AOD on iPhone 14 Pro.

Multiple Timer Settings

In iOS 17, Apple has finally enabled users to create multiple timers.

With each timer, you can assign a name for easier identification in the list. For added convenience, the list will also include any recently completed timers you've used. When multiple timers are running simultaneously, they will all be listed on the lock screen, and the last timer you set will appear in the Dynamic Island.

Safari's 'Listen to Page' Feature

In Safari, Apple has added a new 'Listen to Page' option to the aA menu on the address bar. When you tap it, Siri will read out the content of the current webpage.

While ‌Siri‌ is reading the content of a webpage, a similar option will change to 'Pause Listening', and if paused, it will switch to 'Resume Listening' so you can continue listening from where you left off.

Visual Lookup for Meals

When viewing photos, Apple has enhanced Visual Lookup in several ways, notably the ability to find recipes for similar dishes when meals are recognized in the photo.

Additionally, you can now look up information on the topic you just pulled from the image, and you can also pause a video at any frame to look up information on that topic.

Customized Fitness+ Plans

Fitness+ now includes a new feature called customized plans, where you can create your own weekly workout and meditation schedule to boost motivation.

Plan options include the ability to set total workout/meditation time per day, set plan duration, and choose your activity type. You can also select your favorite Fitness+ trainer and the type of music you want in your plan.
