Spring turns Amsterdam and Keukenhof Park into a lively spectacle, reminiscent of a grand festival. Everyone desires to witness the captivating beauty resembling a floral paradise as millions of tulips burst into bloom.
Embark on a journey to the Netherlands and immerse yourself in a floral haven of 7 million blooms, accessible only once a year.
Before every trip, excitement, anticipation, curiosity, and a hint of skepticism fill me. I always seek out what is a MUST at the upcoming destination. In this journey to explore the Netherlands, I chose the spring season, the time when a myriad of flowers compete in blooming, the season of vibrant life. The first destination on my list is Amsterdam, specifically Keukenhof Park, renowned as the 'garden of spring.'

The reason to visit this place first in my Netherlands travel is that it's a breathtaking floral paradise. Moreover, Keukenhof only opens its doors in spring, for eight weeks from mid-March to mid-May. Stepping inside, I feel like every resident and staff at Keukenhof puts immense effort, care, and meticulous attention into each flower bulb, nurturing every tiny bud. Every year, they proudly showcase the results to friends and visitors from all around.

Not to exaggerate, but perhaps Amsterdam, and the Netherlands in general, attract a substantial number of tourists and flower enthusiasts who flock here during this special time. Despite knowing it will be crowded and prices might soar, it doesn't deter the spirits of flower aficionados.

Located in the town of Lisse, on the coastal outskirts of the Netherlands, the low-lying land below sea level seems unlikely to nurture any plants. Yet, it's the land of tulips, hyacinths, and lilies competing to showcase their vibrant hues. The locals dedicate 32 hectares of land, cultivating 7 million flowers each year to promote their homeland.

Keukenhof is considered the second-largest flower park globally, so when you set foot in this park, you'll feel like you're stepping into a fairyland where myriad flowers flaunt their colors and scents.

An endless expanse of flowers, planted in intricate patterns, featuring a variety of types. The dazzling tulips under the Mediterranean sun, a sun that paints the sky in sparkling yellow, is truly indescribable—no camera or words can capture its full beauty.

I dare to bet that even those who are usually picky or inherently dislike anything 'flamboyantly flowery' must, at least once, be captivated and utter: 'Are we perhaps lost in paradise?'

Spring is like a cup of hot tea with a hint of honey, sweet and fragrant, making anyone who savors it crave more and wish to taste it over and over again. And perhaps, the flowers themselves are the honey added to that fragrant tea.
If you have the chance, don't hesitate—visit Keukenhof, venture to the Netherlands, or even broader, Europe, during spring. Sit under the cherry blossom trees, listen to the melodious birdsong, feel the gentle breeze, and truly savor the sweet taste of heaven on earth. Happiness resides right here, nowhere else!
