Exploring Unique Architectural Icons in Nha Trang
Ponagar Tower
Ponagar Tower, a complex of ancient Hindu temples constructed by the Cham people from the 7th to the 12th century, holds great historical significance in Vietnam. Dedicated to the goddess Ponagar, revered by the Cham as the deity of the country, prosperity, and agriculture.

The original temple featured eight towers, but today only four remain. Built with red bricks and adorned with intricate carvings and sculptures depicting Hindu deities and mythological scenes, Ponagar Tower invites visitors to explore and admire its intricate architectural details.

Visitors to Ponagar Tower can explore and admire the exquisite architectural details. The largest tower is Ponagar Kalan, standing at 23 meters tall and featuring a linga and yoni made of stone. The temple is a sacred site, and visitors must show respect by dressing modestly when they come here.

Shell Pagoda (Từ Vân Pagoda)
When traveling to Nha Trang, tourists cannot overlook Từ Vân Pagoda, a unique temple with towers made from shells, snail shells, and coral reefs. The pagoda has existed for half a century and is the result of the creativity of the monks, so despite its strangeness, the temple still maintains a solemn and tranquil atmosphere.

Bao Tich Tower is the impressive focal point of the pagoda, being the tallest spiral tower in Vietnam at 39 meters. The tower consists of 39 small pyramid-shaped towers on the outside, each containing a thousand-handed, thousand-eyed Buddha statue. The lower floor welcomes visitors, while the upper floor is the place for worship. To create this special work, it took the monks 5 years to complete.

At the pagoda, visitors can experience the journey down the '18 layers of hell,' also made from snail shells. After overcoming the dark journey, tourists will set foot in the 'eight blissful lotus gardens,' featuring flower gardens and statues of marine creatures.

Mountain Church
With a history of over 80 years, Nui Church sits in the heart of Nha Trang city, covering an area of about 720 square meters on the top of Hoang Lan hill. The official name of the church is 'Cathedral of Christ the King.' However, locals and tourists affectionately refer to it with simple names like Stone Church, Mountain Church, Nha Trang Church, and Six-Way Church.

Built in the Western architectural style, the structure stands robustly like an ancient Roman fortress. From a distance, Nui Church impresses with gradually diminishing blocky masses, standing out against the blue sky. The highest point of the construction, at 38 meters, hosts the cross on the bell tower's pinnacle. This architecture bears resemblance to the Stone Church in Sapa.

Tram Huong Tower
Tram Huong Tower was constructed to serve as an architectural highlight for Nha Trang tourism. Initially, the tower had only 3 levels, but after renovations, it now boasts 6 levels. The basement of Tram Huong Tower houses technical rooms, elevators, and utility systems.

The ground floor is a pentagon courtyard corresponding to the tower's five-petal flower design. The ground area includes a main hall, four side halls, and a space for displaying images and promotional products for Nha Trang tourism. The first floor is a park with lush gardens, a fountain, flower beds, along with sculpted images, prominently featuring five sets of stylized wave sculptures.

The second floor, with its unique architecture, replicates the image of sails on the blue sea, resembling delicate flowers. Other levels showcase local landscape art, people of Khanh Hoa, rare marine species, agarwood, ky nam, as well as agarwood-burning products and tools...

The pinnacle of Tram Huong Tower is where the spiritual stupa is situated – a hollow structure with a diameter of around 4.5m and a height of 9m. During the day, the tower resembles a burning agarwood, while at night, it transforms into a torch or a beacon on the sea.

Long Son Pagoda
Long Son Pagoda, also known as White Buddha Pagoda on Trai Thuy Hill. It's named 'White Buddha Pagoda' due to the white marble statue of the Founder Buddha sitting in meditation, 24m tall, with a 7m high lotus pedestal. The White Buddha statue was constructed in 1963 through contributions from monks and Buddhists in the region.

From the temple courtyard, reaching the site of the White Buddha statue requires climbing 193 tiers. Surrounding the lotus pedestal are portraits of 7 venerable monks who self-immolated in 1936 to protest the oppressive policies against Buddhism by the Saigon government. Beneath the lotus pedestal are small compartments containing the ashes sent by Buddhist families.
