Samsung has developed software that allows you to use various widgets, features, or even upgrade to using any application on your phone through this secondary screen. With this article, let's explore how to use the external screen of the Galaxy Z Flip5 from basic to advanced so you can use all the apps you want.
1. Setting up and customizing the Flex Window display
Step 1: With the secondary screen of the Galaxy Z Flip5, Samsung offers you some customization settings in the phone's Settings. Basically, you'll be able to choose wallpapers, adjust features on the secondary screen. Go straight to Settings > External screen style > in the first section you'll see the screens, features that can appear on the external screen, tap on Manage to continue.

Step 2: Here, you can rearrange it by pressing and holding it to the position you want. When you drag it to the top for the first time, it will always be the main screen of your secondary screen. If you want to turn off a screen that is currently on the secondary screen, you can also tap the - red icon on each screen you want to remove, after finishing adjusting, press Done. In addition, you can also choose the main screen for the secondary screen when the device is folded by pressing and holding on the secondary screen then swiping to select the screen you want to save it.

You can also use or organize widgets on the secondary screen in the Widget section in Settings > External screen style. To use it, you just need to turn on the switch behind each widget and the order of appearance of widgets on the secondary screen will be in the order you arrange here. Tap the Sort button in the top right corner of the screen and hold the arrow button next to it to drag it to the position you want is okay.

2. Utilizing additional screens, basic apps for the secondary screen
Step 1: You'll customize and add your own interface for the Flex Window on the Galaxy Z Flip5 by pressing the Add New button. There will be available templates below like Graphics, Fully Prepared Information, Simple, Colors,... and especially you can use images from your collection to set as wallpaper. Here, I'll use one of my pictures for demonstration, if you choose other wallpapers, you can follow and do the same.

Step 2: Open Gallery and select the images you want to use for the secondary screen then press Done in the top right corner of the screen. After that, above the screen will be the preview interface of the secondary screen, here you can tap on Clock to adjust clock style, Battery to show remaining phone battery percentage and bottom right corner at the camera icon will change quick actions instead of taking a photo when pressed on it.

Step 3: Below will be the sections Gallery, Frames, Filters. The functions of these features are respectively select additional images, add frames to images and adjust colors for images used on the secondary screen. Select the items you like and choose a template you find suitable and edit it to your liking. Finally, when everything is completed, all you need to do is press Done.

3. Using all apps for the Flex Window screen
By default on the phone, Samsung will allow you to use some apps on the secondary screen. By going to the Test Lab section in Settings and then turning on the switch for Apps allowed on external screen. When tapping on that section, you'll see some basic apps, to use them, simply turn on their switch. Just a note, since this is just a test feature, sometimes it may not work perfectly.

Lastly, a trick for those who are tired of using ordinary Widgets on the Flex Window that not everyone knows. This trick will help you use all the apps on the secondary screen of this Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5. You should immediately access the Galaxy Store and find the app Good Lock and download it to your device. If you can't find it, you can click on the link below to download it more easily.
After the download process is completed, open it and switch to the Life up tab at the bottom of the screen, then scroll and find the MultiStar module and download it.

Next, after installing the module, go back to Phone Settings > External screen style > Widget > scroll down and find the Launcher section, turn on the switch and tap on it. Then simply select the apps you want to use on the secondary screen by tapping on the checkmarks next to each app. You can check which apps have been checked by looking at the preview screen above or by opening your secondary screen to check.

With this feature, I can now comfortably play games like Arena of Valor, PUBG Mobile, even Honkai: Star Rail or browse TikTok, Facebook without any problem on the Galaxy Z Flip5.
