Gia Lai boasts numerous stunning waterfalls, yet not all are easily accessible. Some can be explored in a day like Phu Cuong Waterfall and Team 3 Waterfall, while others require venturing deep into the forest like 50 Waterfall and 95 Waterfall.
Discovering Gia Lai's 9 mesmerizing waterfalls is an unforgettable journey
1. Phu Cuong Waterfall
Phu Cuong Waterfall flows over the basalt of a dormant volcano, located in the Phu Cuong quarry area, Dun commune, Chu Se district, Gia Lai province; approximately 3 km from Chu Se town and 45 km southeast of Pleiku city. With its pristine, captivating, majestic natural beauty along with its towering height of 45 meters, Phu Cuong Waterfall is always an enticing tourist destination.

2. Xung Khoeng Waterfall
Thác Xung Khoeng is situated in Ia Me commune, Chu Prong district, Gia Lai province. The waterfall's grand face stretches widely and relatively flat. Dense vegetation adorns both banks, while behind the cascade, stretches a deep blue sky. Water gracefully cascades, meandering around soft rock formations, crashing against protruding boulders, creating a frothy white spray. Water flows stealthily through rock crevices, over lush green carpets, forming a serene water pool, nestled against the surrounding cliffs.

3. Lekim Waterfall
To reach Lekim Waterfall, from Pleiku City, follow provincial road 664 for about 20 km. Upon reaching Ia Kha town – the central hub of Ia Grai district, continue for another 15 km to arrive at Lekim Waterfall. From a distance, you can hear the roaring sound of water cascading from above. Upon arrival, you'll be mesmerized by the scenic beauty blended with the natural wonder of Lekim Waterfall: the Ia Pech stream originates from the mountains, flowing over a flat terrain, winding and cascading into a fairly wide lake before flowing into the Po Ko River. Hence, the locals have aptly named this tourist spot Lekim Waterfall.

4. Team 3 Waterfall
Team 3 Waterfall, also known as Bau Can Waterfall, is located in Team 3, Tay Ho commune, Bau Can. It's the closest waterfall to Pleiku City, only about 20km away. Following a road that winds through coffee hills, past green tea hills, and through fields of purple grass, while asking for directions, one can reach Team 3 Waterfall. From afar, the sound of rushing water can be heard from atop the hill. At the foot of the waterfall lies an old hydroelectric plant built by the French.

5. Kueng O Waterfall
This is an ecotourism destination yet to be explored, despite being only 50 km away from Pleiku City. The waterfall belongs to Kueng O village, Ia Pal commune, Chư Sê district, situated to the southeast, along National Highway 25 (former Route 7). The waterfall boasts a considerable water flow, comprising a main large cascade and two smaller ones. Here, you'll feel the cool air generated by the waterfall mist. The most exciting part is when you step behind the main cascade's flow, you'll experience a fantastic sensation, with water mist swirling around, combined with the wind, giving you a feeling of walking through a water mist storm. This place promises to be an intriguing tourist destination in beloved Chư Sê land.

6. Nine-layered Waterfall
Nine-layered Waterfall isn't tall but stretches and winds along rugged rock walls, dividing into 9 distinct layers. Each layer ranges from 5 - 10 meters in height, with the last 2 layers being about 15 meters tall. Located in Ia Sao, 30 km from Pleiku, the waterfall's multiple layers allow for climbing. Nestled deep in the mountains, it can be a bit challenging to find the way. Though lacking the grandeur of water plunging straight from above, the sound of water hitting the rocks rivals Phu Cuong and Lekim Waterfalls, still earning it a place in the group. From the side, it appears like a stretched staircase veiled in water. From above, it resembles a dragon curling, ready to soar into the sky.

7. Đăk Rong Waterfall
Đăk Rong Waterfall lies on the way to KonPne, below Đăk Rong dam, within Đăk Rong commune, KBang district, Gia Lai province, about 160 km from Pleiku City center. The waterfall boasts a considerable water flow and splits into multiple streams.

8. Waterfall 50
To conquer Waterfall 50, you'll need an hour's motorcycle ride, plus an additional 3-hour trek through continuous ups and downs in the Kon Chu Rang National Park forest. The total time to access Waterfall 50 is two days and one night for non-experts. The waterfall stands about 54 meters tall, with a width ranging from 20 meters to 100 meters depending on the season. The water flows vigorously, creating mist and beautiful rainbows. The space is both real and mystical, with the azure water in the lake, perpetual white foam, and misty water vapor. This is arguably one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the Central Highlands today. It's also a habitat for many bird species, with flocks of wild swallows nesting on the cliffs...

9. Waterfall 95
Located in the Kon Ka Kinh National Park, Waterfall 95 is the most famous and beautiful, standing about 40 meters tall. From a distance, Waterfall 95 resembles a white silk ribbon flowing amidst the melodies of the ancient forest against a backdrop of deep greenery. In the summer, the cool water from the waterfalls keeps the air refreshing. However, to conquer Waterfall 95, you'll need to spend 4 days and 3 nights trekking through the forest. For those unfamiliar with forest trekking, this is no easy feat. Due to its untouched beauty and the difficulty of conquering it, there are no perfect photos of this waterfall, adding to its allure and mystery.
Besides the beautiful 9 waterfalls mentioned above, Gia Lai also has many other stunning waterfalls such as Princess Waterfall, Ia Grai 1 Waterfall, Company Waterfall, Three-layered Waterfall, 110 Waterfall, H'Ngoi Waterfall... and many other unnamed waterfalls waiting for you to discover.
