Nương Yên Tử Village, nestled at the foot of the sacred Yên Tử Mountain range, revives the ancient Northern Vietnamese village with its stone houses, brick walls... imbued with the distinctive cultural essence of Vietnam during the Tran Dynasty.
Exploring the Tran Dynasty Cultural Space in Nương Yên Tử Village
Yên Tử Mountain is where King Tran Nhan Tong came to meditate and establish the Truc Lam Yên Tử sect. Legend has it that when the king came here to meditate, many court ladies followed him.

Upon reaching the Giải Oan stream, the king decided to send the ladies back to the palace, but many chose to stay at the foot of the mountain to settle and form villages. Thus, villages like Nương and Mụ were born. However, over time, these villages gradually disappeared.

Drawing from ancient tales, Quảng Ninh Province reconstructed Nương Village, consisting of 50 thatched houses, enveloped by 2 rows of streets in the village style of the Tran Dynasty era. The houses are built with brick walls and mud-plastered walls, combined with wooden gates and doors.

Yen Tu Village consists of 9 residential areas with 90 rooms, each named beautifully: Lotus Scent, Sandalwood Fragrance, Rose Aroma, Jasmine Essence, Lemon Scent, Areca Fragrance, Lotus Petal, Lemongrass, and Grapefruit Scent. The tiled roofs, adorned with moss and new tiles, create a harmonious architectural charm. Surrounding the houses are gardens of mango, grapefruit, areca nut, and tamarind…

The highlight of Yen Tu Village that attracts all visitors is the two-story communal house, where traditional Vietnamese operas like cheo, xam singing, quan ho, and folk melodies are performed to entertain guests.

Visitors to Yen Tu Village can also indulge in local delicacies such as sticky rice cakes, gio cakes, sour fermented pork… and have the opportunity to practice meditation, yoga, and learn about the Truc Lam Yen Tu Zen sect. Additionally, there is the Tran Nhan Tong Buddhist Museum, meditation centers… for visitors to delve deeper into the King who became a Buddha.

Here, visitors can also experience the serenity of nature while staying at the 3-star Pilgrimage Village, with 9 houses nestled along the Giải Oan stream, offering 75 rooms corresponding to 300 beds. All rooms are bunk-bed style with simple yet fully equipped amenities, imbued with the spirit of meditation.

Inspired by traditional Vietnamese village markets, the Chợ Quê restaurant, located within the Pilgrimage Village compound, along with the Tung Lam restaurant situated along the cable car route, caters to guests throughout the day and features ethnic music performances.

Visitors to Yen Tu Village have the opportunity to stroll along the Bat Trang brick road, ride wooden horse carts to explore the ancient houses, visit model traditional craft villages, and directly experience the work of artisans such as crafting bamboo products, making conical hats, crafting bamboo flutes, and creating Dong Ho paintings…
