Phu Quy Island is a small gem located off the coast of Phan Thiet city, Binh Thuan province, 120km away from the mainland. What impressed me most about Phu Quy is its pristine and untouched beauty, devoid of the ravages of tourism.
Discovering the Unmissable 3D2N Itinerary of Phu Quy Island
Compared to the tourist islands I've visited, Phu Quy is like a precious pearl waiting for travel enthusiasts to explore. Here's a detailed review by Nguyen Truong Son after his solo trip to Phu Quy Island, let's check it out with Mytour.

When is the Best Time to Explore Phu Quy Island?
The ideal time to explore Phu Quy Island is from January to April in the lunar calendar. During this period, the sea is calm, the weather is cool and pleasant, suitable for everyone to enjoy and explore.

Transportation to Reach Phu Quy Island
Nowadays, traveling to the island is quite easy and fast, as there are high-speed boats commuting from Phan Thiet port to the island. You only need 4 hours on the boat with high-quality service to reach the island.
To book tickets, please contact: Hung Phat 26 High-Speed Boat.

Food and Transportation on the Island
After wandering on the island for days and having time to experience it, I have the observation that the food and drink expenses on the island are extremely cheap, not expensive like Binh Ba or Phu Quoc. Especially, the fresh seafood here is very affordable for everyone. The accommodation I chose on the island is: Mr. Gioi's homestay, a very enthusiastic person highly praised by the travel community when staying here. Contact Mr. Gioi's homestay: 0937194908.
I traveled alone, arranged in a separate room with a cost of 100,000 VND/day. Here, you can also rent a motorbike with quite cheap cost of 100,000 VND/day.

Some delicious dishes you should try on the island: pancake, grilled anchovy rice paper, fish sauce noodle soup, and especially the delicious fresh seafood.
Places Worth Visiting on the Island
High Sand Dunes, Linh Son Pagoda: This is a high point where you can observe the entire island. With the beautiful rock formations of mountains.
Van Thanh An: Where there are huge whale skeletons, the second largest in Southeast Asia, only after the whale skeleton currently in Phan Thiet.
Light House Peak – Forbidden Mountain: This is one of the largest lighthouses in Vietnam. It can also be considered as the best spot to admire the island's scenery.
Small Beach – Hang Cliff: Small Beach is a special beach surrounded by cliffs on both sides, making it quite peaceful for swimming. Hang Cliff is a large cliff standing close to the sea, with waves crashing against it creating a majestic scene.
Electric Windmill System: Besides providing electricity to the entire island, the windmill system also creates a beautiful landscape for the island. This is also a place that you should visit when traveling to Phu Quy Island.

3 Days 2 Nights Island Exploration Itinerary
Day 1:
9:00 AM: Board the boat departing to the island from Phan Thiet.
1:00 PM: Boat docks, contact Mr. Gioi, the homestay owner, to pick up and return home.
– Have lunch at a roadside restaurant on the way back to the homestay. I had beef pho for 25,000 VND.
– Back at the homestay, freshen up and rest after a journey on the sea.
3:00 PM: Depart for sightseeing, rent a bike from the homestay.

– Move to High Sand Dunes, admire the scenery and take photos. Then visit Linh Son Pagoda and pray.
– Move on to the lighthouse, explore and take photos. From the lighthouse, head to the windmill system to take photos.
– Finally, head to Hang Cliff and the sovereignty flagpole of Phu Quy Island.

6:00 PM: Have snacks. According to my advice, you should try the grilled anchovy rice paper. This is a favorite dish of the islanders. To satisfy your hunger, you can also enjoy fish sauce noodle soup or pancake. Because Mr. Gioi informed me that there is sea urchin porridge at home, I only ate rice paper and saved room to enjoy the extremely delicious sea urchin porridge waiting.
7:00 PM: Return to the homestay, have a light dinner with sea urchin porridge.
Since I took the boat and spent the whole afternoon wandering around, I decided to go out in front of the homestay, where there is a wave barrier close to the sea to admire the night sea view and go to bed early. Mr. Gioi, the homestay owner, treated us to Huynh De crab, one of the island's specialties.

Day 2:
5:00 AM: Wake up very early to watch the sunrise over the sea. People usually choose Hang Cliff or Trieu Duong Bay to watch the sunrise and swim.
6:00 AM: Have breakfast and continue the island exploration journey. Everyone chose the 108 restaurant on Vo Van Kiet Street for breakfast. I had Nam Vang noodles, surprisingly priced at only 20,000 VND per bowl.
7:00 AM: After breakfast and rest, continue sightseeing.
Today, everyone decided to return to the sovereignty flagpole for photos. Then, they went deeper into Hang Cliff and descended to the small beach to admire the scenery.

10:00 AM: After wandering around, feeling tired, everyone decided to go back to change into swimsuits and head to the seafood raft.
11:00 AM: Everyone went to Mr. Sang's raft. If you go to the raft for dining, you will be taken to the raft for free.
– Everyone decided to have seafood at the raft because all the dishes are fresh. Clams, boiled snails, appetizers first.
– Then everyone at Mr. Gioi's homestay decided to swim in the middle of the sea because the water was very clear and calm. Swimming was really tiring, so everyone went back to the raft to enjoy a delicious fresh red snapper porridge just caught from the sea. After the refreshing sea swim, enjoying a hot bowl of spicy fish porridge is incomparable.

2:00 PM: After eating, swimming, and resting on the raft, return to the homestay to freshen up and rest. Take a deep nap on the hammock in front of the house, with the cool sea breeze.
4:00 PM: I decided to explore the island by walking, delving into each alley, each street to see the island life.

After a tired wandering, I returned to the homestay and had a small party with some new friends! Ending the day with a joyful and cozy party with new friends.

Day 3:
Ending the trip with a breakfast treated by new friends with delicious stir-fried noodles with fresh squid.
7:00 AM: The boat runs, returning to the mainland, but the thoughts still linger on Phu Quy Island.
The 3-day spring exploration journey on Phu Quy Island was an extremely interesting experience that I had.
