With a plethora of dreamy destinations, you're sure to find a delightful experience in Hawaii – from surfing in O'ahu to exploring the majestic beauty of Maui, admiring the vibrant city life of Honolulu, or discovering the 'hidden gem' of Lana'i. Before Setting Off to Hawaii

As the island's tourism gears up again, you'll need to prepare some paperwork in advance. To travel to Hawaii, the local authorities require all international travelers to have a passport and ensure a negative result of the RT-PCR test from officially recognized laboratories by the Hawaii government. If your COVID test is conducted in a non-recognized lab, you'll be asked to retest or undergo a mandatory 10-day self-isolation period.
Exciting news! Hawaii has unified international entry policies with federal guidelines for air travelers, effective from November 8. Foreign tourists are required to be fully vaccinated (for passengers on direct flights) and present a negative result of the COVID-19 test.
So, in addition to visas and passports, you also need to bring a vaccination certificate or vaccination card. Since November 2021, approved vaccines in Hawaii include Janssen/Johnson&Johnson, Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Covaxin, Covishield, BIBP/Sinopharm & Sinovac.
Starting from December 6, all incoming passengers from overseas aged 2 and above, regardless of vaccination status, must undergo testing within one day from the departure date to Hawaii and nearby U.S. territories.

- Unvaccinated travelers to Hawaii via layovers in a U.S. state or territory must ensure a negative RT-PCR test result from Hawaii's reliable testing partners. Unvaccinated travelers will also have to undergo mandatory isolation if health experts at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (Honolulu International Airport) deem it necessary.
COVID-19 Situation in Hawaii

In the context of tightened travel rules in the U.S. due to the Omicron variant of COVID-19, consider the following restrictions:
- Federal regulations on wearing masks for airports, airplanes, and other public transportation services have been extended until March 18, 2022.
- Due to the threat of the newly discovered variant, travel bans are currently in effect for travelers from Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, and Zimbabwe. Always refer to the website of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for updates on new travel policies.
The principles of COVID-19 prevention might make you hesitate about the idea of traveling to Hawaii. Fear not! After all, what awaits you is a dazzling check-in photo shoot in vibrant valleys, golden sandy beaches, warm sunshine, and the sparkling waters of the islands.
