Discovering Tranquility: Exploring Vinh Nghiem Pagoda in the Heart of Saigon
Address: 339 Nam Ky Khoi Nghia, Ward 7, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City.

Vinh Nghiem Pagoda follows the Northern Buddhism tradition (Mahayana) and stands out in Saigon's religious landscape. Built in 1964, modeled after its namesake in Bac Giang, it has been a spiritual hub since 1971.
Alongside Phap Hoa Pagoda, Giac Lam Pagoda, Xa Loi Pagoda, and Hoang Phap Pagoda, Vinh Nghiem Pagoda is regarded as one of Saigon's unique temples, offering a peaceful haven amidst the city's hustle and bustle.

In 1971, Vĩnh Nghiêm Pagoda completed its fundamental constructions, including: the central building, Quan Thế Âm Tower, social activity facilities, and officially commenced operations. Later on, the pagoda proceeded to build additional structures such as: Community Prosperity Tower, Vĩnh Nghiêm Tower, walkways, guest halls, etc.

The triple gate of Vĩnh Nghiêm Pagoda is quite imposing, designed in traditional style with red tiled roofs and intricate curved motifs. On either side of the pagoda gate are delicately engraved couplets, while above them shines the golden words 'Vĩnh Nghiêm Pagoda'.

Central Building

The main hall features a 'work' architectural style with curved roof corners typical of Northern pagodas. At the center of the hall's roof is the Dharma wheel and mythical creatures at each corner.
The main hall is divided into three spaces: the worship hall, the scripture hall, and the Ksitigarbha hall, where altars for Buddha and Bodhisattvas are placed. Additionally, there are paintings of Arhats and statues of Vajrasattva. Furthermore, the central building also includes a ground floor with a section beneath the terrace and another beneath the main hall.
