A group of researchers utilized LiDAR technology and uncovered a lost ancient city buried deep within the Amazon rainforest.
Scientists employed LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) technology, which uses laser beams to gather information about surrounding objects. The research team used LiDAR to scan a portion of the Amazon and discovered beneath the dense canopy remnants of an ancient civilization. They believe this city belonged to the Casarabe culture (500-1400 AD), featuring elevated causeways, urban centers, platforms, and pyramid-like structures.
