While disabling video in Zoom is easy, the video is usually replaced by your name. Displaying an image instead of your name might be a better choice. This article guides you on showcasing an image instead of your name and video in Zoom Meetings.
Tips for displaying images instead of video in Zoom meetings
1. Adding Images to Zoom
*On PC
Step 1: Access Zoom on the web and log in to your Zoom account.
Step 2: Click on MY ACCOUNT in the top right corner of the web browser.
Step 3: Select Profile under the Personal tab on the right side of the screen.
Step 4: Your profile section will appear in the right sidebar. There, click on Change below the profile picture icon as shown below.
Step 5: In the popup window, click on Upload in the bottom right corner and upload the desired image from your computer.
Step 6: After the image has been uploaded, drag the corners to crop the image to your liking. When satisfied, click on Save to save the changes.
* On mobile
Step 1: Open the Zoom app on your phone and tap on Settings at the bottom right corner of the screen.
Step 2: Tap on your profile information with your name at the top of the screen.
Step 3: Select Profile Picture.
2. Displaying Images Instead of Videos on Zoom
Whether you're on a computer or smartphone, switching to an image instead of your video feed is incredibly simple. Ensure you've uploaded a profile picture as instructed above.
Now, just disable your video source during the meeting, and it will automatically showcase your profile picture instead of video to all participants.
When you click the Stop Video button, it will turn into a red icon. That means the video feed is paused, and everyone will see your profile picture.
If you don't have a profile picture, meeting attendees will see your display name as a small thumbnail from your video feed. You can still use audio to converse with others while your video feed is turned off.
3. Adding Images During an Ongoing Zoom Meeting
Step 1: Once you've joined the meeting, click on Manage Participants.
Step 2: Find your name in the participant list and click on More next to your name.
Step 3: Select Add profile picture.
Step 4: You will be prompted to choose an image from your storage. Simply select the desired image and click Open in the bottom right corner.
Step 5: Zoom will open a dialog where you can crop and zoom the image. Adjust the image as needed and click Save to apply changes.
Your profile picture is now added in the meeting. When you turn off the video feed in this meeting, participants will see your profile picture instead of your video feed.
