Suppose you have numeric data as shown in the image below and need to format it to display commas for thousand separators.
First, select the cells you want to format to display thousand separators by highlighting them.
Step 2: Open Format Cells for Formatting
To open the Format Cells dialog box, you can follow one of two methods:
- Right-click -> select Format Cells
- Another way is to press the shortcut keys: Ctrl + 1
Step 3: After you open Format Cells -> you set the separator you want. You go to the Number tab -> then choose Number
+ In the Decimal places section, you set it to 3,
+ In the Use 1000 Separator (,) section, you check this box -> then press OK.
As a result, you will see thousand separators appearing in Excel.
