Iron Man conspicuously absent in the following crucial details of Doctor Strange 2.
NOTE: ARTICLE CONTAINS SPOILERS.
One of the regrets in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is the absence of Iron Man. Previously, there were many rumors that actor Tom Cruise would become Iron Man in another MCU universe, but that didn't happen in Doctor Strange 2. In fact, Doctor Strange 2 treats Iron Man - Tony Stark even worse!

Doctor Strange not part of the Illuminati group
One of the Marvel fans' perplexities witnessing the appearance of the Illuminati group in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is the absence of Iron Man. In the comics, Iron Man is a prominent member as well as the most iconic representative of the Avengers within the Illuminati. However, in the movie, this position was replaced by Captain Carter. This detail left many viewers disappointed, especially when the Illuminati of Universe 838 was swiftly defeated by Wanda in just a few moments.

Ultron's Success Overshadows Iron Man
The 838 Universe in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness surprises audiences with a massive Ultron army, guarding every corner of the Illuminati's stronghold. Unlike the official 616 Universe, Ultron in 838 is a huge success, serving and protecting superheroes instead of turning against them like the villainous Ultron 616. However, behind Ultron's success (in the MCU) lies Iron Man's significant contribution, yet no one bothers to mention Marvel's billionaire when discussing Ultron, which is truly disappointing.

Iron Man Could Have Survived the Endgame Battle
In Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the Illuminati reveals a shocking truth to the audience. There are many universes where the superhero group defeats Thanos. The Illuminati managed to thwart Thanos' plan to wipe out half of the universe's population under Professor X's leadership. This indicates that Iron Man could have survived the Endgame battle in some way, but ultimately, he sacrificed himself for the greater good.
