(Homeland) - Doinb's insights into LPL and LCK teams at the 2022 World Championship Finals have become a hot topic after RNG's loss.
On the first day of the Play-In Stage of the 2022 World Championship (Worlds 2022), several surprising results unfolded in the League of Legends (LoL) community. However, the most unexpected was the outcome of the clash between Royal Never Give Up (RNG) and DRX.
This match was considered the most crucial in Group A. The team winning this matchup would secure 50% of the group's top spot. Moreover, it was a showdown between the two strongest LoL regions in the world today. Hence, it was a battle of honor and pride for both regions.
Despite being the higher-rated team, RNG faced defeat. Throughout the match, the 'Royal Army' did not show signs of overturning the situation. If players like Kingen or Pyosik from DRX had played more alertly, the outcome might have been decided earlier.
Following RNG's loss, one of the most mentioned names in the LoL community is none other than... Doinb. The former champion of the 2019 Worlds is one of the regrettable absences from the 2022 Worlds. Nevertheless, Doinb still has many observations about this year's Worlds, especially regarding teams from the LPL and LCK regions.
In his opinion, Doinb once remarked: 'No LCK team can defeat the current LPL. LPL is too strong. Only Gen.G can challenge and beat LPL.' This statement by Doinb was considered quite accurate, as these are the four strongest representatives that LPL has sent to Worlds in recent years. Everything seemed fine until RNG was defeated by DRX.
This outcome led to Doinb being taunted relentlessly on the League of Legends community forums. However, in this case, it's hard to blame Doinb when many share the same view as LNG Esports' Mid Laner. But clearly, RNG's loss is also largely due to DRX playing exceptionally well, especially the duo of Zeka and Deft.
Regardless, these are just the first matches for the teams in Group A. They still have a long journey ahead to qualify for the Group Stage of Worlds 2022. Both RNG and DRX have many more matches to play. However, for RNG, they must truly strive to prove themselves as contenders for the championship if they don't want to become a disappointment for LPL this Worlds season.
