The Ministry of Transport has issued a decree on the maximum increase in domestic flight ticket prices from March 1, 2024. Flight ticket prices on 4 domestic flight route groups will increase from 2.27% to 6.67%, with an average increase of 3.75%.
Flight route groups with distances below 500 km will maintain the maximum price cap of 1,600,000 dong per ticket per way for economically and socially developed routes, and 1,700,000 dong per ticket per way for other flight route groups under 500 km as currently. The remaining four flight route groups will see an increase ranging from 50,000 to 250,000 dong depending on the length of each flight route. Specifically as follows:
Currently, flight ticket prices account for approximately 30 - 40% of the costs of tour packages and travel combos. With the increase in the maximum ticket prices, this cost is estimated to comprise about 50 - 60% of the tour/combo prices, directly impacting the price increase of related travel products.
