Dong Cao Plateau: A Must-Visit Destination in Bac Giang
Dong Cao Plateau is located in Thach Son commune, Son Dong district, Bac Giang province, approximately 150 km from Hanoi. Travelers from Hanoi can take National Highway 1 to Bac Giang, then follow National Highway 31 to An Chau town. From there, it's about 30 km to Dong Cao. Alternatively, starting from the center of Bac Giang city, travelers can head towards Son Dong district, then take a 10 km dirt road leading to the plateau area.

Dong Cao is characterized by vast grasslands and large rock slabs, undulating like a giant chessboard. This area provides perfect conditions for short camping trips.

Travelers can enjoy the fresh air and gentle breezes blowing down the mountainsides into the valleys. From the mountain peak, you can take in the panoramic view of the vast Dong Cao area. Here, it's common to encounter Dao ethnic people herding livestock.

Prepare your gear thoroughly for your trip as the area is sparsely populated. However, with predominantly gentle and sincere ethnic people, this area is quite safe for camping. Travelers can park their motorbikes at local houses for 10,000 VND per night.

You can camp in the valleys halfway up the mountains, where it's wonderful to immerse yourself in the wild nature, enjoying the stunning scenery at sunrise or sunset. To camp overnight here, you'll need to prepare your tent, sleeping bag, food, drinks, personal medical supplies, etc. It's advisable to travel in a group for safety as the area is quite deserted.
