Ha Long Bay holds numerous hidden wonders yet to be fully discovered, and Dragon Eye Island is one of these captivating secrets.
Dragon Eye Island – the mystical eye in Ha Long Bay
A few years ago, Co To and Quan Lan were the islands that captured the imagination of many explorers. However, this year, Dragon Eye Island is emerging as a new trend, drawing the curiosity of various groups of young friends.

Dragon Eye Island, covering an area of about 30 hectares, is also known as Bai Dong Island. It is located in the southern part of Ha Long Bay, adjacent to the Lan Ha Bay area.
The most appealing feature of Dragon Eye Island lies in its untouched, primitive beauty. If you have the financial means to embark on a seaplane tour, you will witness the entire Ha Long Bay from above and understand why this island is named Dragon Eye.
The island is nestled amidst majestic mountain ranges. If you witness the crystal-clear, refreshing water of the island, you'll surely desire to immerse yourself in this seemingly transparent depth forever.

Currently, services on the island are quite limited. However, this limitation adds to the allure, making people eager to set foot on Dragon Eye Island.
From Hanoi, you can travel by motorbike or explore reputable Hanoi – Quang Ninh bus companies such as Kumho, Viet Thanh, Phuc Xuyen, etc. You'll arrive at Bai Chay Bus Station, then continue with a bus, taxi, or motorbike taxi to Bai Chay Harbor. From here, purchase tickets to hire a boat to Dragon Eye Island. The journey from the mainland to the island takes about 2 and a half hours. Alternatively, you can head to Jumbo Ocean Terminal on Column 5, take a high-speed boat to the island, which only takes about 30 – 45 minutes.

Services on the island are practically non-existent, so it's advisable to proactively prepare and bring your own food. If you plan to camp overnight on the island, contact the boat owner in advance for pick-up the next day. However, keep in mind that there is no fresh water on the island, so if you intend to stay overnight, consider this aspect as well.
In addition to usual activities like swimming and mountain climbing, you can also participate in services such as kayaking, boat flying, or bring along items to organize a lively beachside BBQ. And don't forget to clean up the trash.
