Similar to Word, where you can draw arrows on Word using Symbols or the Shapes tool, drawing arrows in Excel can be done in much the same way. Adding these arrows is an excellent way to annotate, create annotations in Excel, making charts, graphs, or highlighted sections in Excel more vivid and visually appealing.

Guide to drawing arrows in Excel 2019
In this tutorial, Mytour will demonstrate in Excel 2019 how to insert arrow symbols into Excel using Symbol and how to draw arrows in Excel via Shapes.
1. How to insert arrows in Excel using Symbol
Step 1: Open Excel spreadsheet, select the cell where you want to insert the arrow symbol.
Step 2: Click on the Insert tab -> select Symbols -> then click on Symbol as described in the image below:
Step 3: The Symbols dialog box appears. Here, you can choose the type and shape of the arrow depending on different fonts, mainly Wingdings 3, Wingdings, and Symbol. When you change the Font, there will be different arrow symbols for you to choose from.
Suppose in the image below, we select the Wingdings font, there will be some simple arrow styles for you to choose from.
Similarly, you can also choose the Wingdings 3 or Symbol font to select the arrow styles you want.

Interface when you select Symbol font
Below is the result when you insert some arrow symbols in Symbol.
2. How to draw arrows in Excel using Shapes
The process of drawing arrows using the Shapes tool follows similar steps to drawing lines in Excel. Here's how to do it specifically:
Step 1: In the Shapes section -> select the arrow drawing in Line Arrow -> then click and hold the left mouse button, then drag to create a straight line as an arrow.
Step 2: Once you've finished drawing the arrow, you'll proceed to change the color, adjust the thickness of the arrow similar to how you manipulate a straight line.
Next, you can also use a Textbox to add start and end points to the arrow. You can add a tip point at the arrow's head using shapes like ellipse, circle... Eventually, you'll get the arrow you desire. For example, arrow AB as shown in the image below.
Next, you can regroup the objects to facilitate movement within the content.
Step 3: Furthermore, you can also draw arrows at both ends or draw different arrow styles such as zigzags in the Line section for instance. Or draw curved arrow symbols in the Block Arrows section to create arrows that are circular, large arrows... on Excel.
So, you have just learned how to draw arrows in Excel 2019 using Symbols to insert arrow icons and manipulate drawing arrow shapes using the available Shapes tool in Excel.
In addition to these methods, you can copy arrow images, then insert images into an Excel worksheet and adjust, customize to fit the content you want to present. To get arrow images, you can search on Google Images, then enter keywords like 'arrow' or 'arrow icon' to search -> then select the image and insert it into Excel to succeed.
