In the midst of Thanh Chương district in the western part of Nghệ An, under the scorching sun and Lao wind, tea plants not only harmonize with the famous cu – đơ specialty, quenching the thirst of travelers from afar, but also create a dreamy and picturesque tourist destination.
Dreamy Tea Islands of Thanh Chương
Along the Hồ Chí Minh route, travelers passing through Thanh An commune, Thanh Chương district (Nghệ An) and moving about 200m will reach Cau Bridge Dam. From the dam's bank, the Tea Islands of Thanh Chương loom in the distance, like pearls reflecting on the azure water.

There are more than a dozen motorboats always ready to serve with a ticket price of about 30,000 VND per passenger. In the serene space, each boat glides gently around the Tea Islands of Thanh Chương. Each open space reveals a moment when tourists marvel at the dreamy and peaceful scenery.

Every day, dozens of groups of domestic and foreign tourists explore the tea islands.

Arriving at any tea island, visitors can stroll, admire the scenery, breathe in the fresh air, and take souvenir photos next to the tea fields. Covering an area of over 1 hectare, each tea island is cultivated and arranged into different patterns. Tourists can freely explore and capture the most beautiful angles. During the wedding season, many couples choose tea islands to capture dazzling wedding photos. On these islands, some local households have utilized tea-viewing platforms to serve tourists with refreshing tea, unique candies, local sweets, and offer hat and costume rentals, as well as tea-picking tools for photography.

After leaving the tea islands, many tour groups may visit local households to enjoy regional products and buy souvenirs from Nghệ An. Nhút Thanh Chương, near Nam Đàn, canh gà (a local dish), bánh mướt (a type of cake), Cầu Đòn goat meat, peanuts, are the famous delicacies of Nghệ An. Recently, with the support of local authorities and international organizations, residents of Anh Sơn and Nam Đàn districts have adopted new technologies to produce local specialties for tourists: green tea starch, ginger/turmeric powder, dandelion rice vermicelli, black garlic rice vermicelli, Sen village rice wine, lạc butter...
