DTCL: Learn the trending Kayle carry lineup used in professional tournaments
Transformed from a lackluster champion, Kayle has emerged as a potent force. While she may not replace Karthus and Viego in the Pentakill lineup, she proves to be a reliable early-game carry. This can be considered a Pentakill variant without Karthus, offering early-game strength and avoiding the usual Super Star competition.

Strengths of Kayle
Following the 14.1 patch, Kayle received a substantial buff in the final explosion after ending her skill, resulting in a sudden and continuous damage output. Initially effective against less robust tank champions, one use of Kayle's skill can sweep through the frontline. It's essential to note that despite the buff, Kayle cannot carry alone; it simply makes you much stronger than the mid-game lobby. For the late game, additional Pentakill champions are still necessary, especially Viego.
Kayle's items include a Fanatic's Dagger, crucial for attacking the frontline, and Giant Slayer for added damage. The final item can be chosen between Guardian Angel, Infinity Edge, Quicksilver Sash, Rabadon's Deathcap, or even another Fanatic's Dagger. For Viego's items, stick to the usual: Bloodthirster + Giant Slayer or Infinity Edge.
Recommended cores: Live for Danger, Metal Arm, Poisoner, Vampire, Freaky Friday, Backup, All Stars, Rapid Fire Cannon...
Team composition and strategy
As Kayle is a 2-cost champion, obtaining her early in the game is straightforward. Build around the Divine/Exile synergy with Yasuo and Kennen or activate the Fanatic synergy early with any champion that can use the Fanatic's Dagger. Treat Kayle as a situational piece; don't force her early as she's not an easy piece to play. For instance, if you get favorable items, have an early Pentakill or Fanatic form with Gnar, or naturally acquire Kayle or find a Golden Shovel in the shop, go for it.
Play normally, but ensure you reach level 5 at the carousel round; you can sell the current Super Star beforehand to increase the chance of getting a 2-cost Super Star Kayle. If you need a stable early game, consider rolling for Super Star Kayle right at level 5 as the chance of getting a 2-cost Super Star is higher at this level than leveling up to 6. The downside is the challenge of finding regular Kayle and important 3-cost champions like Neeko or Mordekaiser.
Regardless of the approach, reaching level 6 is advisable to have a chance to roll for a 3-star Kayle. The best choice for Kayle is the Pentakill Super Star to ease the path to the Pentakill 7 form later on. However, the Divine/Exile Super Star is also acceptable; there's no need to be too picky.
Roll for a 3-star Kayle at level 6; you also need to collect all the Mordekaiser that appears, both to get a tanker and to limit the appearance of Pentakill and Yone reroll champions, as they are still accumulating gold to level up. Later on, reaching Mordekaiser 3 stars is a massive power spike. In the mid-game, a 3-star Kayle with items can be unbeatable because reroll champions at 2 stars are still weak and lack tanks, unable to withstand Kayle's skills twice.
After achieving a 3-star Kayle, push straight to level 8 and start looking for a new Pentakill form. You'll need another carry to deal additional damage to Kayle. The best choice is Viego because he shares the Divine/Exile synergy. However, if Mordekaiser reaches 3 stars, focusing on him as the second carry is also good because Mordekaiser's skills deal magic damage, synergizing well with Kayle's magic penetration. Avoid giving items to Karthus as fitting in Deathblade in this composition is challenging, and Karthus will lack damage.
From level 8 onwards, Kayle will gradually lack damage and can't penetrate through tanky champions like Zac or Blitzcrank. Moreover, the damage has a fixed duration, so it can't compete with DPS champions like Ahri or Twisted Fate. If there's no Viego to assist, you might find yourself getting punched in the face. Therefore, Kayle needs to be strong in the mid-game to compete at level 8.
This composition later needs Yorick 2 stars if you want to secure the top spot. However, watching Kayle sweep through opponents is satisfying, and if you get Kayle early, you can easily secure a spot in the top.
This Kayle composition is quite good and has appeared frequently in the APAC tournament if the players find Super Star Kayle early. Play it when you have the chance.
